  1. Hello all! I'm a UK trained nurse [BSc Adult Nursing] since 2008. Worked in both the UK and Ireland. Moved to the USA a few years ago for personal reasons. I have my permanent residence here. I have been so stressed for nearly 10months with trying to sort out becoming an RN here. I have gone through the GCNFS/TruMerit credentials evaluation only to have come up short with not having paediatrics/maternal/mental health requirements for the boards of nursing. I have contacted several boards of nursing here in the USA only to be told the same, that my qualifications do not match up with the USA nursing BSN course. I honestly feel like I'm at my wits end and am devastated. I have considered doing a direct-entry masters of nursing course here but the thoughts of the financials sicken me. I would love to practice as a nurse here but the thoughts of getting into debt are mind-numbing. I have spoken with people from many boards of nursing, seeking possible alternative options e.g. supplemental modules/courses etc. to 'top-up' my qualifications to meet the USA requirements but honestly nobody has been helpful despite pleasantries. Please, please, if anyone has sound advice, without having to go back to university and pay crazy amount of money to do a course, please help. The thoughts of not nursing has me upset for months now. Thank you all so much in advance! Anita.
