I cant remember where I said it but I wonder how it would play out if they comittees didn't see GPA until revealed at interviews. Like they review applications, set 2 piles: 1 to interview the other to not. then at the interview they look at GPA and classes and can ask questions about grades.. prior to just to make sure that pre-reqs are met the program coordinator or something can just verify theyve had the right classes - but GPA isn't listed still

Congrats! Yea my issue was my former degree I was pretty high up.. then went with the hey c's make degrees because I had no idea about CRNA when I went back to school. now my butt is screwed so I limp by with merits

Awesome! thank you! My problem is looking at my GPA aspect. to raise my GPA to "competitive" id need a whole bachelors degree worth of courses at all A's. I took biochem and grad stats but thats not really enough. I hate that retaking doesnt really do us justice since the nursingcas system averages your grades instead of expunging

Actually I disagree. I don't think GPA matters as much as bedside experience/skill. You can take a test to determine educational ability (iq test is easiest to state) but that defeats the purpose. Sure we need to have a great grasp on the educational foundations of what CRNA courses entail but, I feel intrinsically that learning the skills will directly apply to the didactic portions if the student doesnt have a strong GPA. I could go on and on but also we have gotten away from the true scales in education - they forget that F is failing, D is below average, C is average, B is above average and A is well above average - those are all relative to the total scope of all degrees, not just CRNA. they want those who are well above average then they need to revamp their criteria for admission

From what I've gathered from multiple sources is that GPA is their only official marker they utilize to guarantee 1st time pass rates for boards. they have to maintain an 80% 1st time pass rate or can lose their accred. So they go off GPA's to indicate if a student will pass or not. Though I don't know why the set the minimum so low to apply when they have much higher averages and/or list to be "competitive" unless its a money scheme

my suggestion is gonna unfortunately be pretty basic as it seems everyones interviews are different... just be confident in yourself, be yourself, and be humble

Im pretty sure they withhold stats on purpose so more people apply - money generating.

LOL I've done a lot of prompts and jerry rigging to get a setup I think is quite harsh to mimic admission committees so we'll see how it stacks up against my remaining applications

Most places don't from the number I've applied to. Even with being interviewed. They typically won't give individualized feedback

its literally a cut and paste letter - the only thing to input is a persons name.. which they couldnt be bothered to do that. It doesn't take much effort on their part while reviewing our applications to jot down things that were not ideal to add into a letter. they obviously keep dossiers on each applicant. Can't improve your application if you don't have direction.

You know, I can handle rejection letters.. I just can't handle mediocrity. You mean to tell me you send me a rejection notice that doesn't even include my name.. literally an attachment that states dear first name last name then has generalized BS about application but includes wanting you to apply again but don't forget the additional 100$ fee. No eff that. I applied to a doctorate level course of study. The BARE minimum you can do is take the time and effort to craft an individualized response (use AI for all I care) on what was not ideal about my application, what I can do to further improve upon it, and don't just thank me for forking over 150$ for nothing. You had the time and effort to review each application to determine merit for an interview- take that extra time right then and jot down a few specifics. This crap is getting out of hand allowing these institutions to just get away with minimal response for not only the cost but also the level. Get it together.
