I've had various businesses for over 40 years, as my interests and education changed. My wife and I own Creative Counseling of Milwaukee. Here's our experience: no matter how much you pay employees or contractors, they often think you're taking money from them. We pay as much as we can, and we're not getting rich. And we work 6-7 days/week. But that's a typical business owner, in our experience. We'd make more if we both just practiced psychotherapy, but then we wouldn't be supporting 15 workers who serve 100s of people, 1000s over the years, most on Medicaid.
