  1. I think nurses actually do eat their young. I have been a nurse for a year and although I had a descent preceptor I see alot of new grads that come on now and the training they recieve consists of the nurse working with them for 2 weeks then making coffee runs the following 8 weeks while on orientation. When I have asked a few about it they arrogantly respond "they gotta learn by doing it themselves" CJ
  2. Yeah nursemates don't work I have shoxs and love them also my feet love them. I have worked with a nurse that had z-coils and lived by them but they looked uncomfortably and funny to me. CJ
  3. Hello I have been and ICU nurse for a year now. Although I am happy with nursing for the most part I am considering STRONGLY leaving this unit. I am not happy with the unit and the moral is horrible. I am considering moving into the clinic setting. I am not sure if floor nursing is for me. I come home physically exhausted and have taken a night shift position because the thought of working on that unit during the day is horrifying. My only question is PAY. I am scared that working in a clinic or Dr's office I have be taking a signficant pay cut. I make about 24 (peanuts) and hour now in NC, anyone know the pay ranges for office nursing. CJ
