I am currently a BSN student graduating in May 2026 and plan to take the NCLEX shortly after graduation. I will be relocating to Southern California, specifically the Orange County / Inland Empire region, and am beginning to plan my job search as a new graduate RN.
I am hoping to gather insight from those familiar with the hiring landscape in this region. While I have been reviewing hospital career pages, I know that application timelines and new graduate cohorts can vary significantly by system, and firsthand experience is often more accurate than posted information.
By background, I am an Advanced EMT with critical care transport experience, and I am particularly interested in acute care settings such as ICU or ER. I am open to learning and understand the competitiveness of the market, especially for new graduates.
I would greatly appreciate any information regarding which hospitals in OC or the Inland Empire typically hire new graduates, when application windows tend to open for May graduates, and whether it is advisable to apply before or after receiving NCLEX results. Thank you!
