I called them. They asked how I had heard of their facility. They had never heard of this website. Needless to say, they were amazed.

no job after two years
to ONACLEARDAY Thank you for your reply. During the past two years I have tried most of the suggestions I have heard in this post. I have been tutored in interviewing skills. I have had my resume professionally critiqued. I have applied to nursing homes; no benefits for three months and no guarantee of work after three months. I have networked, networked, networked. I am the best CNA ever, and I do work nights and weekends. I have applied all over the country and made it clear that I will relocate. It is strangely reassuring to hear that I am fighting impossible odds. There is nothing more that I can do.

no job after two years
I graduated two years ago and am still working as a CNA after hundreds of applications all over the country. No, there is nothing wrong with me, except I am 58 years old and trying to get a job in a profession of extroverts when I am an introvert. Have an associates degree and am paying off loans and have no desire or ability to get BS. I have a BA from an ivy league college ( not that it matters) from 1975. Anyone else in this position?

I CANNOT GET A JOB!
Kate, Thanks for the info on IHS. I will follow up on it. Is it possible to get an IHS position with at least three months mentoring? I had terrible clinicals and don't know how to do much of anything. Or do you just get thrown into a situation with many patients and no help? Mia, are you in New Jersey? So is it bad in NJ, NY? I am sorry that you have having such a hard time also. How about the huge hospitals in NYC?

I CANNOT GET A JOB!
Thanks for the suggestion. I think you have to be reimbursable, a nurse practitioner or PA or MD to take advantage of the government service program, but I will check again. It's a good idea.

I CANNOT GET A JOB!
Thanks. I spoke with management yesterday. They said that they are getting 70 applicants, all experienced nurses, for every opening. A TICU nurse who is moving to the area with her doctor husband just took an entry level nursing job because it was the only job she could get. Management says it's the worst situation that they've ever seen and it is not expected to change for at least a year. I was told that if there are jobs for new grads, they would be in New Mexico or Arizona. Does anyone out there know of any jobs in those areas?

I CANNOT GET A JOB!
I made it through the associate RN program with a 3.58. I passed NCLEX with 75 questions. I have been a CNA in a level I trauma center for five years and I have a great work record. But, I CANNOT GET A JOB! I am in the northeast. Is it easier anyplace else? There are lots of jobs listed but none are hiring new grads. HELP

job with respect
Thanks for the answers I do think that some companies are better than others and the company philosophy does matter.

I will graduate in May. Are there any suggestions for job sites where nurses are actually happy and are treated well by management? Thank you.

Best places for nurses?
I am half of the way through nursing school. Is there such a thing as an insiders guide to hospitals or nursing jobs similar to an insiders guide to colleges? I want to find someplace where nurses are part of a team and are treated well. Is there such a place? How do I find it? Thank you

I can't get a hospital job!
I was a newspaper photographer for 30 years. I was out of work (long story) and got a volunteer job as a "family assistant" in the emergency room of a large level I trauma center when I was 52 years old. I was then hired to do the family assistant job for pay. From there I went to CNA school and became a CNA in the same place. Now I have just finished my first year of nursing school and I am 55 years old. So, volunteer.
