Hello, hope all of you have a nice day ^^
I have just moved to the U.S. this year. Now, I am a student of the community college, and I am trying my best to transfer to UW-Seattle, Nursing. Unfortunately, because of some problems, I can only study the CNA certificate in Spring 2026, which leads me to be quite worried because I believe there are many strong applicants with more than 400+ hours out there. Honestly, all my friends who plan to go into nursing that I met during my pathway are so awesome, and I feel quite pressured since I do not have as many valuable experiences related to health care as they do (My part-time job is related to food service).
Therefore, I am planning to take a volunteer job related to health care to gain some experience, if possible, but now I am quite overwhelmed about where I should take the volunteer jobs that are really related to health care as soon as possible. I know about the UW Medicine and Seattle Children's Hospital, but they do not seem to be open to applicants now... And my purpose is to have a volunteer job at the beginning of January.
It would be nice if seniors could give me some advice about where I should find the volunteers related to health care, and what I should do to increase my chance to go to UW-Seattle Nursing in one year if it is possible.
Thank you.
