Texas Lutheran University (TLU) Direct-Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEMSN) - Fall 2025
Thanks love. Appreciate the support. ? Feeling so behind but thank you for being supportive. ?? Yeah I reached out to mine as well, and I was able to bypass the editable survey (clicked share/send, copy link, and open it on another window) and submitted that way. I told the advisors we can see everyone's personal information too. Had to call board of nursing, to figure out what happened to my IdentoGo but got that squared away too and scheduled.

Not yet. Something about how it messed up on their end so they'll send it today. I didn't even get my email from BON yet to schedule my IdentoGo either. Had to have the advisors manually send me the invite link and it doesn't even let me register ? The lack of how smooth this is going makes my anxiety shoot through ?

Here my cheap butt was thinking 1300-1400 is so expensive and could I afford it even with loans ;-; . but noted that as well. You are reminding me to slow down and focus on finding a place like that, whereas I kept looking for the bare necessities of survival there. You are right though, I should open and look at a few more places even if its a little outside my budget and see if it'll fit what I'll need. Definitely will tour them in person before selecting. Maybe I misinterpreted their website listings and their amenities page/fees page, because it didn't list W/D or A/C on it, nor did the searches say they offer it. But in the picture, there's a space for it! Wish I had that unit you saw ? saw a place all the way in Kyle, TX that was like $900 and had EVERYTHING. Only con was it's 27 miles from campus so its a half hour drive. ?

Ooh, perfect. Will do. Thank you. I also looked into Tacara and looks like they don't have A/C or an in unit washer-dryer combo based on their listings and fees and amenities list. Those are some things that I need but I'll keep Tacara in my pocket if other locations aren't up to par with it. Appreciate your advice, thank you!

Okay, I'll try to create a list of main necessities first then add on small things throughout the year, and see what I can get now and then move the address once I get my apartment. THAT'S MY BIGGEST WORRY. That I'll be bamboozled into an agreement/contract just to have a place. But I'm doing thorough research on location/distance/amenities/utilities/monthly cost, etc. So I'll try to make sure I have my bargaining hat on and not settle, and bring backup. I so agree on that point about making sure to have restful sleep each time, so that's also a key factor. I learned from other friends to not get first floor for that main reason of disturbances and bugs, and if I can make the trek to go 2nd or 3rd, or if they have an elevator even higher just for sense of peace and quiet. I will look into that place! I don't think I have it on my list. I also didn't even consider doing short leases. I was under the impression I had to do a whole year, or program's worth, so thank you for mentioning that. Yes, back to the list, main thing would be school supplies that I might need throughout the year, or even help with some of the medical supplies we need, or other things that will help with the apartment space or cover some food snacks. I'll keep all these tips in mind when making my list and looking at that apartment complex. Thank you!! If you come across any more that randomly pop up in your head, send them my way!

Okay, I'll keep following what my advisor said just to be on the safe side. That's good that you're well prepared and have everything squared away! You'll surely be less stressed than I am trying to get everything done so quick, haha. I didn't consider making a list and sending it out to friends and family to see if anyone could help. Should I finalize my apartment first and get an address to get all the shipping straight to it or do you think its just best to go ahead and make one now to send out and have them sent to my current home? And yeah, saving money and getting donations/gifts anywhere will definitely help. I have all but flu shot done! They said I had to wait until 2025-2026 shot came out so it stays valid for the school year. Any other tips for housing, amenities I should look for, good price range, etc.? Any opinions or tips I will gladly take to help shape my decision! Thanks a bunch for being a resource for me as well, can't wait to meet you.

Amazing! I was originally planning for the Spring cohort cycle, but my admissions advisor zoomed me through everything to get me into fall, so that's why I'm a little behind on getting everything done, but working on it. You sure about the background check/blue card? I didn't get any email or notification or anything on castlebranch about it. So, don't even know how to proceed from here, Advisor said to wait for instructions via email before doing it, and not to do it earlier. I am virtually looking at apartments online, and I've made a list of them so far that's within 5-15 minutes of campus so that I can stop by and see them in person. I have seen the uniforms flyer, but have not ordered anything yet. My advisor told me to wait until orientation before doing anything. But I've selected some stuff on Amazon that's sitting in my cart, but I'll double check the flyer in case I missed anything. Thank you for reminding me! Yeah, I'm waiting for that shot to come out ASAP so I can knock that out of the way.

Hi!! Thank you. Congrats to you as well! I've looked around at those, and I'm coming in by myself (first time ever - nerves are high, but open to the experience and to grow as an individual), so was looking to see what kind of housing people chose or if they were looking to room with others. I also have both loans, with the first loan covering my tuition and hopefully the grad plus helping with rent, bills, and other emergency funds. Trying to not have a job during this program so can focus on school and clinicals the whole time as well, but anything to reduce loans and interest pay back is high on my list. But, yeah, primary things I've got left are: finish 1 more class, fingerprint/drug test/ crim background check, get the blue card, flu shot, apartment/room with someone?, finances, buy what is needed for the program, and move! What do you guys all have left? Or are you all done with everything?
