  1. Looking to get away from bedside and want to apply to an internal job within my hospital's system. I work for a small unit in a small community hospital and do not want to burn any bridges as the system owns almost everything around me. I have been at my job for just under a year and need to leave for personal reasons related to my schedule and the stress of inpatient work, I mentally can't do it any more. My manager finds out EVERYTHING and seems like she will stay with our system for a long time, so I want to go about things the right way. I'm just not sure if I should give her a heads up that I am actively looking so she is not caught off guard if my internal application pops up, or if it will cause strain between us that she knows I'm trying to leave. I work nightshift so don't interact with her often. I don't sit on any committees or really do more than is necessary, but I am a good nurse and coworker.
