  1. Hey everyone, I could really use some guidance and support. I was in a nursing program, but I recently got dropped because of a domestic violence charge that happened about 10 years ago. It was from a toxic relationship, and I've completely moved on from that chapter in my life. I've reached out to the Louisiana Board of Nursing but haven't been able to get a clear answer yet. I'm wondering if anyone here has gone through something similar or knows someone who has. Were you still able to do clinicals or take the NCLEX with a charge like this on your record? This has been really discouraging, but I don't want to give up on my dream of becoming a nurse. Any advice, personal experiences, or guidance would mean so much. Thank you ?
  2. I'm reaching out to see if anyone has experience with this. I was recently dropped from Chamberlain due to something that came up on my background check. It was a misdemeanor a domestic and trust passing with my abusive ex from 9 years ago that I deeply regret, and I've grown so much since then. I really want to become a nurse, and I'm heartbroken that this might stop me from pursuing my dream. Has anyone ever gone through the appeals process for a background issue and actually been reinstated or accepted back into the program? If so, what did you include in your appeal? Any tips or advice would mean the world to me right now. Thank you in advance for sharing your story
