  1. Texas BON APRN Licensing -Long waiting time

    I applied for initial licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) in November 2024. I completed my Nurse Practitioner program at a university in the United States; however, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from a university in a foreign country. As a result, the BON transferred my file for an educational review by a nurse consultant in mid-April, 2025. Each time I inquire about the status of my application, I am informed that my file has been transferred and that there is no definitive timeline for when this review will be completed. I am extremely disappointed with the prolonged process, as I have lost several job offers and seek clarity regarding the timeline for a decision. Any assistance or insight regarding my situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Toms
