  1. I went straight into PDN PRN ( later full time) after not being able to find a residency post grad. I do wish I didn't move on so quick or at least broaden my search but felt like I needed to find something quick in order to cover some financial responsibilities (which the case I'm on has helped with). Now here I am almost a year later. How I feel abt the job ebbs and flows. On one hand I'm glad to have built rapport with the family and close some gaps in regard to at-home pt care; not to mention the ease of the case. The ease is also kind of an issue bc it's no longer challenging; it's very routine. Most days I feel like I'm losing my mind due to boredom/dissatisfaction and then end up feeling bad bc I willingly chose this job/case + I'm helping them out and making things a little easier on the parents life. With that being said, has anyone switched out of PDN into a hospital with little to no experience or did a lateral career move? Or perhaps I should just find a more challenging case? If I were to stay in PDN, I do wonder if it'd be better to just leave the case only bc I feel like cutting down my days (3 days on atm) would cause some animosity. Better to just leave than deal with the constant passive aggressiveness I would likely receive...but I'm trulyyyy just looking for something different altogether. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance guys. TLDR: I'm an 'old' new grad and I've hit a brick wall in PDN. I'm looking to switch out but have very little experience that would qualify me for another nursing position
  2. Not a single word. I have a feeling they're done with interviews and rounding up reject emails
  3. Wait...last Wednesday? Had you not said anything I would've thought I had a chance 🤣 I haven't heard anything back
  4. I did one last Hail Mary for MH and got automatically rejected the next day. (I've been in HH for less than a year and ig the system looked at that and concluded for me that I'm not fit for their residency 😫 mind u I've never worked in a hospital besides clinicals. I know next to nothing expect the same two skills I perform in the pt's home)
  5. Thank you for starting this thread! I missed MH's open house zoom meetings; I noticed on the application that they listed their Orthopedic Hospital but there's no unit listed for this location. Typo? Also what is their "General Medicine Teaching" unit at TMC? Is it a more specified medsurg?

  7. A coworker at my HH job told me my experience in the field would boost my chances...man atp it's like I have to know the hiring manager, staff on the unit, HR, supervisor, dietician, RT, and janitor just to get in ??
  8. "Too old" in the sense that after 9-12 months of being a new grad, for wtv reason, many hospitals consider you ineligible for hire, especially if you get a job working in healthcare as an RN. In my case, I went to home health but my skills are bare min and no where near the technical skills I'd be doing in the hospital. But they see the experience I have and IDK deem me unteachable or something I guess ? still a new grad but not as fresh anymore
  9. Hmm this was my final round applying for residencies before I'm considered too old of a new grad ;) I've already gotten rejected from all the htx hospitals I applied for, and from the looks of it I'll probably be getting my rejection letter from TCH and HM soon. Congrats to everyone who got hired and good luck to everyone waiting to hear back after an interview and/or applying for future cycles!
  10. For anyone who's gotten an interview, did yall have clinicals/prior experience (PCT, CNA, volunteer, etc) at the hospitals you applied to?
  11. Has anyone heard from Harris Health? The latest I've gotten was their mass email saying they're waiting to here back from units that are hiring
  12. Wait so for those who didn't get an interview email, we can just assume our application wasn't considered?
  13. If you're open to any, I believe HCA Texas Orthopedics is hiring RN
