College of the Canyons - Spring 2026
RE: books - I paid for the online book package on Wolters Klewer or whatever it was - that was definitely more than I was expecting but it did say that it's all the books for the whole program, so I'm hoping we don't need to buy any others. I did pick up most of the other recommended ones too.

East Los Angeles College (ELAC) ADN - Spring 2026
I had mine yesterday, same questions. Really just verifying some info and asking if there was anything we didn't get to say or wanted to add on the application - maybe like special life circumstances or situations? She said she thought we'd hear within a week or so, but she wasn't positive. I'm guessing by the end of next week? Did anyone hear any differently?

Laptop Recommendations
Hey Lexi, I'm just wrapping up some of my prereqs and am applying to programs for a Spring start (cross your fingers for me!). For me personally, I'm not sure if the kind of laptop matters as much as if you have a good program/system that works for you for note taking and homework. I crammed in microbio, anatomy and physiology in shorter sessions (8 wks and 5 wks) and my iPad & pencil (with Notability or GoodNotes) was absolutely invaluable for me. I watched lectures and other videos like Amoeba Sisters, Dr. Mike and Science with Susanna on my laptop but took all my notes on my iPad. But being able to take pictures of the whiteboard in lab, record the professor's audio (and auto transcription!) in class and write notes on the PDFs from class made a huge difference for me being able to retain and revisit info. I'm sure it's different for everyone, but I relied far more heavily on my iPad than I did my laptop. I took tests and quizzes on my laptop but most of my studying, notes, etc was on my iPad.
