Being a male nurse from experience is a positive and negative. The positive is that women are usually always caddy with eachother but you being a guy it usually doesn't affect you. The downside is if there's a good number of men on that unit it's like a fraternity where they will challenge and test you. Just from my experience.
  2. Hi everyone. I am currently a medsurge nurse and is experiencing burn out. I just realize medsurge isn't for me. I just recently applied to the county jail and got the position . My question is for the nurses who have experience in both medsurge and in the jail. Which one did you prefer and why? I just don't want to make a mistake of leaving medsurge and it being worse inside the jail. Thank you.
