Severely Depressed
The one part of your post that stood out to me was someone reporting you to the precept about taking the pen that was beyond the threshold, which you shouldn't have done. Did they tell you they were going to notify your precept, or did you find out later that they told the precept behind your back? Sounds like you were under constant surveillance. It is possible that this particular group did not want you working there, for whatever reason, and were looking for ways to get you to leave. This would explain why you feel like you were set up to fail.

Should I just quit?
What you describe sounds like you were working for a person who is psychotic. And should be fired, I don't care how much seniority they have, there is no excuse for that level of unprofessionalism in a setting where people's health and lives are at stake. A bullying nurse cannot be a good nurse and the boards need to strip them of their license because that is the only thing that will force them to change their ways. Zero tolerance. In any other profession, that charge you described would be a liability and so it should be the same for nursing.

Fresno City College (FCC) RN program - Fall 2025 / Spring 2026
I wanted to be able to work part time as much as I can before it start getting busy and cos seems to give me that option. Plus, I got accepted into fcc for Spring 2026. I rather go to cos a semester early so I can be done with nursing school early. If I were accepted to fcc fall 2025 I would mind going to fcc, but still it wouldn't give me the choice of working part time since it's Monday- Friday. I don't mind the drive to cos and I heard many good things about cos. I looked into their nursing course on registration and it seems like the first semester is Monday-Wednesday. I'm not too sure it can change. What do you have in mind? Thank you for explaining what made you choose COS. I drove to Visalia this weekend and it is a nice town with everything a student could need. Yes, it does seem like there is more opportunity to work part-time at COS (at least in the first semester). Right now I live in Fresno near Woodward Park so driving to COS would be about an hour, unless I choose to move closer.

I don't think the cost are accurate. I was wait listed for COS and I did the RN mandatory meeting and the tuition was like over 6k. While Fresno city the updated tuition for 2023 amounts about around 7k. Not really a difference, but you always want to put into consideration distance. What's closer to you. have you tried covered California that's what I go through and you will either pay 0 or maybe up to 10 bucks. Last year I paid 0 bucks, this year I pay 10 a month. Of course there's a copay but it's only 35 bucks. Depending on how much you make for work. You are right, those costs are not accurate--thank you for letting me know about COS being over 6k. I live in Fresno, but I am renting and I am not against moving to Visalia to be closer to the school, especially if rent is cheaper. I can't see myself driving to Visalia everyday from Fresno, unless I can listen to lectures while I drive LOL. I will look into Covered California once I quit my full-time job. I am getting all this healthcare work done right now, going to my doctors, before I lose my health insurance.

Do you know the price difference? Do you mean health insurance like for doctor appoints and check ups? Both are $46 a credit, but from what I have read on both websites for each school, but California BON website it lists the costs for ADN programs in CA, Fresno City College is over $10,000 (tuition and books), while the College of the Sequoias is around $3,500 (tuition only). I need to talk to counselors at each school to make sure I understand the price difference before I make a decision. Yes, health insurance as in check ups, appointments, emergencies etc. I don't qualify for Medi-Cal and I don't think either schools offer student health insurance. I hate to say this, but I think my financial situation is going to play a big part in which school I choose--but I am grateful.

Fresno City College (FCC) RN program - Fall 2025 / Spring 2026
I received an acceptance email for Fresno City College on Friday, April 4 for fall 2025. I had a 4.0 GPA in all the nursing pre-requisites, 87.3% on my TEAS, a non-science BA from an accredited university, and I will be finishing all the classes for my Pre-Allied Health and psychology associate degrees this Summer at FCC. I had 87 points total for the nursing application and a 3.7 GPA overall. I have no medical/healthcare background. I kind of feel like this is a sign from above telling me, yes, become a nurse! I also got into the College of the Sequoias for fall 2025, which I am leaning towards because they appear to be the more inexpensive choice between the two and they seem to have a strong program. Now, I am trying to figure out two things: -how will I pay for health insurance (I am an older student with no one supporting me; no dependents either) -if I need to have a part-time job, where could I work that would give me basic health insurance for part-time hours
