  1. Hi! I didn't have the greatest overall GPA. My freshman year I failed out an entire semester due to life circumstances. My GPA was so low, like under a 3.0. This was almost a decade ago though. I went back and finished my degree at another school last year and finished with a 3.9 (out of like 40 credits). I also aced all my pre-reqs. I took some of those on portage and some at the university I graduated from. I also started working as an EMT. I mentioned this in my application, but I'm not sure how much that impacted my acceptance. Did you hear back yet?
  2. @bluetulips44 Congrats on your acceptance! Yes I submitted my deposit right away, but only because this program was my #1 choice. I applied to Rutgers' ABSN program as well and an ADN program but those were my 2nd and 3rd choices. As far as first hand experiences, all feedback and advise has been pretty typical. That the program is fast paced and you'll need to manage your time wisely and choose a small group of classmates to help stay accountable with studying. Wishing you the best of luck! @futurern527 I'm sure you'll hear back soon. I was notified that the school is closed due to the storm so you definitely won't hear back today. Did you apply before January 16th?
  3. Hi! I applied a few weeks before the deadline of January 16th and I just received an email this morning with my acceptance. I'm assuming they are just now starting to send out decisions! Good luck. Hope to meet you very soon!
  4. It's nice to virtually meet you! Thanks so much for sharing the tips and information. Fingers crossed that I get accepted, maybe then we'll be able to meet! I'm wishing you the best of luck on finishing the program. When is your cohort expected to be finished?
  5. Hi! I'm hoping to start in the 2026 cohort. Can anyone on this thread tell me how did find the program? Is the workload intense? Is it a chill or high stress environment? Any notes would be appreciated. Thank you ?

  7. @Syrup NJ No problem! Good luck on your application. I'll come back and post on here with any updates!
  8. Hi everyone! ? I wanted to start a new thread for anyone applying (or who has already applied) to Montclair State University's Direct Entry MSN Pre-Licensure program. I recently submitted my application and have one remaining prerequisite that I'll be finishing up by the end of this month. If any current or past students have insights about the program, please feel free to share your experiences or advice below! For those applying this cycle, let's use this thread to share updates and stay connected throughout the process. Looking forward to hearing from you all — and hopefully meeting some of you in the program soon!
