  1. It's not 100% guaranteed but they gave us a list of preceptors that they work with for us to contact if we didn't have our own. Everyone in my group found placement off that list.
  2. Thanks for the employer's standpoint. I did not state that I can determine whether or not they are providing a good education, just what I am currently experiencing at the school. Have a great day
  3. Sad that you're letting a few bad apples taint your view of an entire institution. There are many factors that may have contributed to them being not to your standards. I can say that CDU has revamped their PMHNP program, I am in the first cohort of the new program with new leadership and new requirements and knowledge checkpoints. Every alumni I've spoken to is working. There are limited options for MSN programs in SoCal, especially when it comes to preceptor placement (which CDU provides). Do your research and speak to former students about their experience with the school and their ability to find a job afterwards. Cheers
  4. Yes, I am at the end of the 1st semester. There is a lot of busy work (assignments, discussion posts, SOAP notes, etc). It's a confusing, hard and time consuming semester because it's the 3Ps all at once but it's honestly so beneficial to have them all together. My cohort (FNP/PMHNP combined in the 1st semester) is working really well together to make sure no one is left behind. Let me know if you have any specific questions!
  5. So sorry you had to deal with all of this! I'm curious if you remember if they used an alcohol wipe to clean your skin before they drew your blood? Where I work if we are drawing a tox screen we can only use saline. This rules out a potential contamination from the alcohol in the wipe, but 0.3 is incredibly high!
  6. Hey fellow nurses! Does anyone have insight to Charles R. Drew University PMHNP program? Anyone starting this Summer? I've been accepted to start this Summer but having a hard time finding any student accounts of their experience. Thanks!
