Hi guys! I'm just now joining the discussion, but I am looking for any and all advice on how to improve and make my application more competitive. I recently applied to UTC and did not receive an interview so I am looking to make major improvements prior to applying to other schools! First Degree GPA 2.97 (10 years ago) BSN GPA 3.68 Cumulative GPA 3.37 Science GPA 3.73 (currently taking general chem) 16 shadow hours (plan to have more) 3 years of CVICU experience 2 years precepting ECMO/LVAD/RVAD/IMPELLA/CRRT/IABP CCRN, ACLS/BLS (currently working on PALS)

Congrats on your interview, what a huge accomplishment! I have heard from several people currently in the program that they focus more on critical thinking skills, not only knowing the answer to clinical questions but how you got to that answer. Also I was told to really represent yourself confidently, but humble! Best of luck to you, I'm sure you'll do well ?

I also did not get an interview. But I hope you all know, there is a plan and we will get in where and when we are meant to! Again, congratulations to all who received an invitation and best of luck to everyone ❤️

I hope they also send out the rejection emails today.. Either way I just would like to know so I can stop stressing ? And Congrats to everyone with interviews, huge accomplishment and I am so excited for you all!

I have a friend currently in the program and she told me it took about a month to hear back after applying! I am hoping we hear something by the first week of May ??

I also assumed the free text was where you were meant to write your personal statement. After reading these comments, I went back and submitted my personal statement as an "add on" attachment with my resume/CV. I'm not sure if they will accept it at this point, but never hurts to try!
