  1. ahhh!!! I see...lol...sorry!
  2. I am confused??? Did I say somewhere that all RNs are female?
  3. Thanks for the info guys. I just learned that my federal aid will not cover the course because it's only 5 months and they won't cover a course that small...weird.
  4. I tried that...is there something wrong with my browser? I went through like 50 pages and couldn't find an answer Thanks for the encouragement!
  5. It's me again...I know I keep posting questions, but I always research this first before posting. Since it is important I start working as soon as possible, yet I still would like to be a nurse, I have decided to look into becoming a phlebotomist here in tulsa so that I can get on with a hospital with tuition re-imbursement for college. So even though it might take me 6 freakin years to be an RN, at least I would bringing some much needed income into my house being a phlebotomist. How much are they paid here in tulsa? I heard it was almost as much as a medical assistant. Is this true? The class hourse are perfect at CCC Friday and Saturday 9-5, so I wouldnt need much daycare. This also might give me a look into what nurses deal with as I would like to work in a hospital setting. Does this sound like a good idea?
  6. Do you feel this type of career inflames your conditions? Nursing I mean?
  7. I would just like to know if there are any nurses out there with Lupus or any other type of connective tissue disease? How hard does it make your job and do you feel you have more flare ups before or after you became a nurse? I so appreciate any responses. Also, do LPNs and RNs do about the same physical work?
  8. Thank you for all the info, I have sent letters to HR for a few hospitals in my area. I will update you on the answers I get!
  9. Where did you get this figure? OMG!!! I know this post is old, but I was doing a search as I was contimplating going to Central Tech in Sapulpa and then working in Tulsa as an LPN. Can you give me your source for this info???
  10. Well I guess I am considering lowering my sights and going for an LPN with a facility who will perhaps help me get my RN later down the line. What is the job outlook in Oklahoma for LPNs? Are there many LPN jobs for the L/D unit? I know that RNs have more education and can do asessments and IVs, but what is the real difference between LPN and RN? Will I basically be doing all the grunt work and getting paid less for it? Please don't be offended if you are an LPN! I am just grouchy because I don't have enough time to go to school for an RN degree. Thanks for all the help girls!
  11. Marilyn, does your cousin work in Oklahoma??? I would seriously consider doing my LPN in Sapulpa if I thought it was worth my time. I just thought there weren't many jobs for LPNs. Lana, Thanks so much for the advice. I DO want to jump right in and start, but this has to be a mutual decision for both me and my family and unfortunitely 4 years of college does not fit into the plan I admire you so much for having the means and determination.
  12. LPNs are being phazed out all over the place, so I didn't see the point in it. Also, I would really like to work in a doctor's office or on the labor and delivery floor of a hospital and I don't think there are many LPNs there. I am just very surprised it takes 4 years to get an associates degree at TCC...WOW.
  13. Also, I thought they dropped math from the pre-req requirement?
  14. so you are saying that it take 4 years for the whole thing? 2 years pre- req and 2 year nursing? OMG
