  1. Hi do you know where the testing center was in SA? I am moving there soon and figuring out what area to live in. Also, how many days a week did you find yourself going in for mandatory in-persons? Im being told that its about 3x a week? I know the clinical sites change but where should I aim to live then?
  2. How much did yall pay for your CNA courses?
  3. I also got good news. Congrats everyone. I think we have a week to submit payment but to be safe I would just go ahead and pay.
  4. ABSN applicant and I refreshed my portal- Nothing yet!
  5. Yup! You've done everything you can do at this point! Just gotta sit and wait to find out if we will be nurses by next year! I keep checking my emails as if they are going to accept me in the middle of the night. Since I know a lot of you are restless, I'll tell you a little about myself since I can't sleep. I have two kids and after my second I was like LIGHTBULB. I want to go to nursing school (It was my first pre-major, but I got derailed and unfocused and just got a degree in anything to get out of school early) So I graduated early and now almost 15 years later I have traveled the world worked in sales and got married and had kids and now I feel so called to be in healthcare. Started pre-reqs this past January with my 2 month old on my lap, a toddler in the other and the rest is history. Never underestimate us moms. haha Anyone got a story to tell about how you got here? Fun fact. My mom is also an RN and went to nursing school when me and my siblings were tiny. It's funny how these things play out! Apple, I guess.
  6. Has anyone spoken to the TTUHSC administrators lately? I'm thinking about calling today to see if there is an update?
  7. I was super surprised to discover that! I am not used to prices coming down in this economy! We could use every bit of help we can get. I am just a little annoyed that I'm still waiting to find out what my year is going to look like next year. Last year, the first set of applicants started hearing back on Sept 9 which was the second Monday of the month. That would be TOMORROW so I am looking forward to possibly getting some answers here soon.
  8. FYI the updated cost sheet (25-26) It looks like the Education technology fee is going down from 3000/semester to 1500/semester which means tuition will go down about 4k total for this upcoming year. That is good news ( once we are accepted!) Good luck!
  9. I applied for San Antonio! Any other SA's out there?
  10. Thank you for sharing! Did these numbers include Health Insurance? Because on the on the SON ABSN cost estimation sheet is has the semesters listed as $7565 (x3)
  11. So I have the estimated cost of the ABSN program at $22,700. Is what yall have calculated? Are there any extra costs beside scrubs that I should account for? ( if I get in of course!)
  12. I got an email since I have a class in progress I have to send proof of enrollment by Monday 8-4! What are the deadlines around the interview process? Any further details.
  13. California is likely even TIGHTER than NYC. There are like 10 jobs for every 300 applicants. I'd honestly try a couple hours out from NYC to areas that are less populated/ less popular. My local hospital in LA just have mass layoffs that included nurses primarily. I'd say wait for CA until this thing turns around because its impossible here. Im considering Texas now and Im hearing things are tight there too in most of the major cities.
