  1. Yay! I just saw the email. I accepted right away! Congratulations!
  2. How are you feeling btw? It's definitely a learning curve in the beginning and honestly all throughout, LOL. Each stage of development and growth is new and each child differs in personality so it feels different with each one. Definitely pick my brain! I would love to help in any way possible ?
  3. Thanks for all the info! I agree with Krystle, it sounds like your interview went really well and I also agree that the handshake is something not too worrisome, it does seem like the panel was trying to keep time and I'm sure it was a complete oversight. Congratulations on a great sounding interview. We got this! ?
  4. Hi Krystle, Congratulations on your new little one! You are a rockstar! I can only imagine how you must have been feeling having just given birth. I'm sure the fact you were there for your interview was beyond impressive to the panel. You definitely showed your dedication to pursue a career in nursing and what better group of compassionate people to witness your dedication. You got this! I'm sure you will recieve an acceptance email once they send them out. Hopefully all of us will and we can all support eachother on this journey! I know I don't know you but if there is anything you need please let me know. ? I am more than happy to help in any way I can. ? I have 3 littles of my own and know how challenging it can be when you are trying to rest and recover from having a baby.
  5. I'm hopeful we will all get in! I wonder why they were so much less than previous years? Maybe because other schools went to points based instead of waitlists so more options for students. I totally didn't even see the interview grading sheet. I just saw they had my resume on hand.
  6. I'm hoping by Monday at the latest but it could be Wednesday since some interviews are tomorrow I hope two days then. Did she say how many applicants there are? I agree. The anticipation is so hard, LOL
  7. Congratulations Gabriel! That sounds like an amazing interview. I agree with you as well! the women interviewing me were wonderful. They helped ease my anxiety and helped the interview flow so much better than I was expecting. I had similar questions. Name 2 inspirations for going into nursing. Why choose a career in medical profession? Why national? What is diversity and how is it different than inclusion? and Discuss 3 of the most important points for professional communication.
  8. Hi! Checking in how interviews went today? Did anyone ask how many candidates applied/interview?
  9. I haven't applied before but I would I would ask 2-3 follow up questions
  10. Oh no! Is it still early on Wednesday? Maybe your work will be OK with you going in late?
  11. I haven't got an email. When did you get your email to reschedule?
  12. Congratulations Everyone! How is everyone feeling?
  13. CONGRATULATIONS!! I just got mine too. I got the invitation! Woo hoo! Date: 3/10 time: 12:40 pm
  14. Sromelia, I am so sorry to hear! It is crazy how competitive the program is. It seems this way for most schools. What is your plan moving forward? Your scores are hihg, maybe retake a class and/or TEAS? Mira Costa (ADN program) also has a lottery for acceptance vs point system, there are not many seats and a lot of applicants but it is worth a shot also.
  15. Hey all! I went through the previous cohorts and comprised a list of questions that were asked at interviews that other candidates shared. Here is what I came up with: How do you describe professionalism? Why is diversity important? Why national? Tell us about yourself? Why nursing? How would you handle a difficult patient? How will you communicate with a person that does not speak your language? How will you handle the rigor of such a fast-paced program? Talk about a time where you admit or accept a time you were wrong and how you learned from that situation? How did you handle a conflict with a coworker? What are the traits of a nurse? Describe an experience where you did everything right but the outcome was negative and what you learned? How would you handle a patient who is angry or threw up on you?
  16. Hi Krystle1, Congratulations! Those are excellent scores and great job on your retake. It definitely paid off! Same as you, I have been checking every day for the email. We got this! I agree! I think that is FANTASTIC news for us as well. I hope its not much over 40. :). Sorry to hear about your advisor. I have a new one now as my old one is no longer with NU and I like my new one so much more. She has been super helpful. My old advisor was pretty unresponsive and missed appointments, it was hard to get things done.
  17. Hi sunshinemc! A few friends of mine who are also applying to this cohort as well noticed that also. One reached out to her advisor and the advisor asked his supervisor. The advisor said the orginial deadline of Feb. 14 still stands. He didn't know exactly why the 25th deadline was posted. Did you speak with anyone that confirmed this? I am curious to know if there are few applicants. The same person who asked her advisor also told her there were over 40 applicants but did not say exactly how many.
  18. Hi REM7. I haven't heard anything. I am hoping we will all hear some good news on Friday. Though I obsessively check my email every day, just in case they notify us early. LOL. I think you are right about the GPA and TEAS scores. I hope it's a smaller group to give more people a chance of getting in. It's crazy how competitive nursing programs are! Keep us posted if you hear anything....btw. If you don't mind sharing your stats? No pressure of course. The info helps others who are applying to know their standing. I totally scoured cohort 81 as well to see where I stood. LOL.
  19. Hi Sromelia, I haven't heard yet. I know what you mean, I have been checking multiple times a day! AliceLei posted a nice timeline based off the cohort 81 data. I think we will hear Friday through early next week. Hopefully earlier. The BSN programs have been so competitive. I am hoping we all get in. We got this! ?
  20. You have excellent scores. Congratulations! I don't have clinical experience either but I'm sure that won't work against you. Focus on your life experiences and how that has shaped your decision yo pursue a career in nursing. I think they want to get a feel of your dedication, personality and motivation for going into nursing. You got this! ?
  21. Hi AliceLei, I hope so too. Good luck. If you don't mind sharing what is your overall science/math GPA and TEAS score? I'm hoping we will know by Friday! I keep checking my email in case they are early. ?
  22. Good luck all! The application deadline is tomorrow. Hopefully we will know in a couple weeks if we move on to the interview!
  23. I don't know exactly for this cohort, it depends on how many applicants there are but I read that NU BSN program acceptance rate is about 55% on average but it was not published from NU so I'm not sure how accurate that is
  24. We got this! So far it sounds like everyone is super competitive with their scores!
