  1. When I went the only units open were Med surg, Tele, and NICU. They give you a paper that says what's your one top choice and you have to write it down and thats where they will place you, if you want to interview to other floors open you can but will be placed last and have to wait until everyone that picked that unit as their first choice interviews
  2. I actually attended the Job fair last month and got hired on the med surg/trauma floor. I started 1 week ago! They welcome new grads. If the job fair starts at 10am I suggest getting there very early, even if they tell you to come back closer to when it starts just stand outside the door because a line will begin to form. When I went there was alot of people interviewing at least 20 and it goes by first come first serve. The first person that was interviewed for med surg got hired on the spot when I went, I interviewed but was told there was only one spot left so I left without getting hired, but fortunately I got a call later that same day offering me the spot. The best advice I can give is sell yourself and be yourself!! With so many people interviewing it's more about being memorable than what's on your resume.
  3. Does anyone know if new applications will open for new grads soon?
  4. Does anyone know if there will be any more application periods opening up soon?
  5. Does anyone know when new grad application will open up for the next cohort?
  6. Gonna try to wait till august to apply again
  7. I tried applying to the L&D unit yesterday and got an email today from the talent acquisition that sadly L&D finished hiring new grads last month and the next time to apply would be until June/July ? She said if I wanted to apply online I had to look for the ones that said "new grad friendly" but I did and saw none so I am going to go to the job fair on the 12th to see what units are hiring, if they are even still hiring
  8. Yeah I heard about that too it made me wonder if they are just interviewing unit by unit or just taking it slow because my application changed to the top unit I picked almost 2 weeks ago and have not gotten a call for an interview...
  9. Haven't received any call for an interview at Whittier, been waiting to see if it's just me or if anyone else hasn't gotten to interview either
  10. Was this the only unit and hospital you applied to? I didn't go to the hiring fair because this was my top unit. It's one of the few hospital's I've found that actually have a new grad program for mother/baby.
  11. Same here, I applied for both day/night shift more than a week ago and they both say new. I'm hoping it doesn't take them long to update us on whether or not we get to interview
  12. Did you end up getting an offer for Good Sam? I feel hopeless waiting for an interview with Whittier at this point but who knows right
