Hello! Our unit is closed for major holidays (Christmas, NY Day, Thanksgiving), but also closed for some minor holidays (4th, Memorial Day, MLK, Labor Day). We also have some other random holidays that we aren't necessarily closed but are in the call rotation. Ex -- Mother's / Father's Day Sundays, Easter Sunday, Christmas Eve after a certain hour, NYE after a certain hour. So if my weekend falls on Mother's Day weekend but Mother's Day isn't my call, the nurse that has that call assigned is on call that Sunday. We have a semi tedious and annoying rotation on an Excel sheet. When one nurse leaves, we fill in with the nurse that replaces that nurse. When multiple leave, sometimes we end up only replacing one, which leaves a holiday unaccounted for. Honestly, it might be the best way to do it. But does anyone else have ideas from their current unit with holiday call rotation? What all holidays do you include in it?
