  1. Life as is posted a topic in General Nursing
I have read about someone wanting to move from Arizona to Texas as a nurse. Well, I did that few weeks ago without really looking deep into the nursing aspect in Texas, it is very different. Probably depending on where in Texas you are going. I'm in San Antonio and the hospital is super busy, always looking for providers, equipment, the equipment is very different and so is the computer system. People are very nice, and will help if needed. The pay is a huge cut, no pay for differential. The way people make money is they work a lot of overtime, that is where the money is, but who wants to work all the time? Not me. Everyone says that Texas is cheaper , but that is not true. Health insurance is high and so are home taxes, way higher than in Arizona. Also housing is on the rise . I wish I came here as a traveler, like a lot of friends were telling me. So, if you really want to come to Texas, come as a traveler and try few different hospitals. Do your homework.
