To the previous posts : you were lucky/ happy campers at LCC. The class that started before me at LCC graduated 50 % of the original enrollment. I am a student of 50 years old, myself and other 50 + students have the opinion that LCC wants to eliminate older students. The MBA who sat next to me felt she had been harrassed by one of the clinical instructors. I was harrassed by my clinical instructor in the first semester. This person would try to provoke me into arguements, and would make insulting remarks to me in rooms where there were no observers. I complained, it made the harrassment worse. By the end of the semester I was teary. I loved Maternity class, I thought my clinical instructor was the CATS MEOW! Acute Care, another misery. I had no problem with the class work. MY GPA was 3.5/4.0. Clinical....Had a new instructor. Couldn't do anything right for this one either. Hated my paperwork. I would ask for help, I would get "do your best" as advice. The paperwork would never be acceptable. Got put on probation. I had 3 tutors who could not figure out what the clinical instructor was looking for. We all would examine the remains of the documents. I was never written up for bad technique, bad behaviour, not doing the job. Got written up for mispellings, didn't like my nursing diagnosis. Last week of clinical I got called in to the department chairs office. I was told I failed the class and would "Never succeed at LCC." All I can figure ( tutors and friends too) is that I was that semesters "Goat." I am currently looking for another LPN program I can transfer credits to.
