  1. Hi everyone! I'm a prospective career-changer hoping to switch from finance to nursing with an ABSN program. I'm currently looking at programs in NY (Utica, NYU, Pace, Stony Brook) and CT (Fairfield, Quinnipiac, USJ). I am taking a year to continue working in finance while taking prerequisites/volunteering in the hospital. It seems like everyone on these threads has both awesome prereq grades and years of medical experience. Does anyone have experience with any of the programs I mentioned and can weigh in if it will hurt me that I only have volunteer experience? I have a 3.7 undergrad GPA and am trying my hardest to get strong grades in prerequisites in the hopes that this will make me a stronger applicant. Thanks in advance ?
  2. Hi everyone! I'm in finance but have decided to pursue an ABSN. Ideally, I'd like to attend a school in IL, but would move to NYC post-grad (my boyfriend had to move there for his job, so I would like to end up there as well). I know I'm thinking very far in advance, but have been hearing how difficult it is to secure a job in NYC as a new grad without having connections or doing clinicals there. Is it worth it for me to look into NYC programs? The cost deters me, but I don't want to be hard-pressed to find a job after graduating. Thank you in advance!
