  1. Agreed! I also still a Nursing student but from my Firefighting/EMS background, you need to be full throttle in studying, practice and will power. You need to make sacrifices if you really want this so bad.
  2. Mine is also under review, I think I have a good shot at it, god willing.
  3. Hello! I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this. I am a Nursing student currently in fundamentals. Since you added additional people to your family, I would make sure to have your FAFSA reflect that and to mention your struggles in any scholarship essays you may be writing. I would also recommend applying to as many scholarships as humanely possible, so you can focus as much on school as possible. I personally removed my social media, including tiktok and I eat, sleep and breathe nursing school. Being vigilant about studying and making time for studying is important too. Remember only you can make yourself get through Nursing school. When obstacles appear in your life, find ways to get around them. You are tough and a trooper. I believe in you and good luck!
  4. I agree! If you check the "Student Nurse" Subreddit you can find many other cases of Nursing students with different charges being given permission from there dean to finish up there degree, but when they go to apply for a license the board of Nursing would block the process due to the criminal record. Even people who had a criminal record as minors and got it expunged have issues. Some states are lenient, some states are very strict.
  5. Some programs also allow you to do a "dual degree" RN BSN program, you get your RN the third year and after the fourth year you get your BSN, so you can work during the last year.
  6. I might do this for grad school lmaoo, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  7. Hey, I know others mentioned this already, but pleading not guilty is always the best choice for these types of situations because you can have your lawyer try and reduce it to something less, that won't have you blocked by the Board of Nursing. Especially two is tough because you can use the excuse that you were naïve etc, so it will be harder to fight but still possible. Have a lawyer on stand by, you may need one for getting past the Board of Nursing if they don't budge. It's happened in the past and if you really need to a lawyer can solve the situation.
  8. Hey! I am sure that you know that the CCs here in upstate have insane waitlists and admit a handful of students per semester out of the hundreds of applicants. OCC, BCC and MCC are some community colleges that I am familiar with here in Upstate. Unless you are willing to wait 2-4 semesters for entrance even with perfect grades, CNA and volunteering, I would avoid them. I won't give away which program I am in but Syracuse has some solid programs. Avoid Crouse as its brutal, has bad professors and everyone is depressed over there. Even the great students hate Crouse and it has a really high fail rate. St Joes is solid, also very hard like any Nursing school. It has a better pass rate and has better professors. The Le Moyne DPPN program is the only Direct Entry BSN program in Syracuse, check it out. Avoid Bryan and Stratton as they are sketchy, everyone fails, its expensive and I have never met an RN from there. Buffalo is solid but its not direct entry, it could take 1-2 years if ever to gain entry into the program. Same story with Binghamton, Binghamton may be worse as clinicals especially for pediatric clinicals is in Upstate downtown normally, which is 1.5 Hours away. Albany has a solid program as well but they are also not direct entry. Private Nursing programs are hit or miss in Upstate and you have to go 100 percent if you want to pass. Also since you have a BS already check out the University of Utica ABSN program with clinicals and class in Syracuse and also check out the Le Moyne ABSN program with St Joes. Good luck!
  9. I got an email a couple hours ago that my application was being reviewed. For those who submitted applications, what stats did you guys have? GPA, Race, Gender, Volunteering etc? Thank you in advance!
