Yes, so I believe level 1 is class RNSG 1430... so all the 5 unit exams + the final exam must add up to a total exam average of 75%. The overall class average doesn't get counted at all unless the persons exam average is a 75% after the final. So for example, if the person has a 80% in the overall course but their exam average is a 74% after the final exam then they failed and can not move on to level 2. level one is pretty difficult because it's all new and people are just learning how to study. My advice is to use the ATI book and powerpoint it has everything you need, and use Google Gemini for practice questions over the exemplars.

I got all my vaccination when I was a child too but they were supposedly outdated so I had to redo a lot of the series. The vaccination must be done in February if I remember so your second month of school. They don't care what company you get your vaccines from as long as they are up to date. When you get accepted a month or 2 before school starts they will email you a link about purchasing and signing up for castlebranch, on there you will upload your vaccination record once that's done you will have to wait 2 business days for castle branch to either accept it or tell you whether it's outdated and you will need to redo the series - and it will give you a date when it's due.

Get your vaccines early and your CPR licenses, the castle branch duties are a big headache. Wish they would've told us before hand, because if your castle branch is not complete you will not be able to attend clinical which will lead to being dropped from the program. Vaccines you'll need if overdue, get them now if you can to save yourself from the stress and lack of communication. Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella the whole series, hep B the whole series, TB, TDap, Flu, COVID. Please make sure your BLS license is American heart association.

My biggest advice for everyone that gets accepted is to study ahead of time, go over the material prior to class because this program is very fast. It moves so fast I thought it was an accelerated program, but it's not which is shocking with how fast units move. When you get accepted you will be given an announcement to attend "Family Night", this night typically falls on the week before school. When you attend that event you will receive information on dress code, study tips, clinical, and you will see a glimpse of the stimulation lab. You will also receive a paper that has all the medical abbreviation and lab values PLEASE STUDY IT! you will have a exam over it and a quiz on one, me and my classmates forgot to study the lab values because it was so much going on and we all failed like literally bombed it the highest score was a 60 and that was one person. My advice for studying is to record the lectures, go over the powerpoint, and when in doubt YouTube university. Also READ THE ATI BOOK AND DO PRACTICE QUESTIONS! not only for your exams but it will help you in the later semester for the ATI proctored exams that you will be taking back to back at the end of the semester. Start reading your ATI Fundamentals book early so when the ATI proctored exam comes you won't have to study so much for them and you can just focus on studying for your finals, because the ATI proctored exams are close to finals week. The instructors will say if you study for the ATI proctored it'll help you for the final.. DO NOT BELIEVE THAT! it's two different materials. The ATI proctor is random no one knows what will be on there just pray you make a Level 1 and up. The grading system in the program is different, if your exam average is not a 75% you will not move on to the next semester, even if you have a 80 in the whole course if your EXAM AVERAGE doesn't meet a 75% or higher you will NOT pass! Once the semester is over they calculate your exam average first if it meets a 75% then they start calculating your other grades like quizzes, and the ATI proctor. If they see your exam average is lower than a 75%, they stop and don't calculate your other grades because they don't matter because you didn't meet the exam average requirement. They also do NOT drop lowest grades or do makeup work or extra credit, if you are late to class you will be locked out and can not come in until our first break. Lab dress code is very strict if you do not follow dress code you will lose points off your check off grade the first offense you lose 20pts, 2nd offense you lose 50pts off either your next check off grade or the whole class, 3rd offense you will fail lab which will cause you not to move on to the next semester. By the end of the semester many of my classmates and myself were literally hanging by thread with our exam average grade, that we were scared we wouldn't pass to the next semester. It was easy for some but for most of us the program was very hard, we lost 8 people which was a very sad moment because we all created bonds.

We have class Monday-Friday 8:30am-2:30pm or 3pm, sometimes we have fridays off.. big emphasizes on the SOMETIMES. Once you start going to clinicals you will have Wednesday's off, and yes you do need health insurance because you will be going to get vaccines and other types of health related things done for the program. BUT a few of my classmates didn't have health insurance and they found places to get it done out of pocket for cheap.. IDK the places they went to.

Overall GPA: 3.5 Science GPA: 3.7 TEAS: 89.9 TEAS Science score: 100 I didn't have to retake any courses, and I took all the courses for the BSN track so I got extra points. They say the sugar land campus is more competitive than the Wharton campus, but do not let that discourage you because it was plenty of people that got accepted and declined the offer.. therefore plenty of alternative came and took their spots. There were more alternatives in my class than original accepted people. My first semester clinical experience was pretty chill due to my clinical instructor, I learned a lot of hands on skills my first semester. The clinical is mainly revolved around patient centered care, learning the basics basically. The clinical sites vary, it's supposed to be based on your location but some people got placed at locations not close to their homes. The location sites for clinicals in your first semester will be Cambridge in Richmond, SPJST in Needville, and Encompass in Sugarland. You will start clinical in March or April, and you will only be able to attend if you have everything in your castlebranch is complete which in their terms "Compliant". For my semester clinical were held on Saturdays 6:30AM but it's subject to change, you will have 6 clinical days total so not much and you will have to complete the documentation and concept card or care plan by that Monday morning.
