  1. I know applying for RN residencies is super stressful, and I'll be transparent with my experience in interviewing. I do believe having experience with the hospital helps, so if you can get your foot in the door by maybe volunteering and getting to know the people on the unit such as the managers would possibly be helpful. Coming from my experience, I was able to complete my preceptorship at the hospital, and have heard they do hire a lot of people already working there such as their care partners. Align your interview answers with their values! Not sure how previous hospital experience plays into your chances, but me personally I did not have a lot of community/volunteer involvement but I did have recent experience as a pediatric CNA already. Best of luck to you ?
  2. I would recommend joining one of the info sessions before the next cohort, they said the specialized ICU's like NICCU and ED are the most competitive/sought after. Good luck!
  3. Straight time is base pay so your first 8 hrs are base pay and the last 4 hrs are time and a half! Evening diff is given from 7pm-11pm at $4.75, weekend (sat-sun) is $3.50, night is 11pm-7 am at $8.00 ? hope this helps!
  4. Im not sure if its the same across the board for all units but I just received my offer email and this is the breakdown: base is $44.17/hr, 1st 8 hours are straight time, last 4 hours are time and a half
  5. I think it says you get the private message option after making 15 posts so this should be my 15th and hopefully I can message you! Definitely would love to connect as we're gonna be coworkers :’)
  6. Just got a call from 5W! Congratulations to everyone and good luck to those who are waiting, im sending all the luck to you all ?✨
  7. Goodluck to everyone ? I hope you all hear back from the units you wanted, we got this ?
  8. The application is closed as of today, I know as of Tuesday it was still open and accepting, so now they are probably just going through and reviewing so we may be hearing back soon since they recently just closed the app.
  9. I applied for 5W and 6E. I didn't hear back from 6E, and 5W has one slot open still
  10. Theres still 3 spots left on the sign up! Thank you!! I hope you hear back soon! Theres 3 slots still left ?
  11. Just got an email for 5w! I was losing hope but they're still sending out invites! Good luck everyone:)
  12. I just finished! They ask some of the same questions on the essay questions from our application, why you want to be a Peds RN, why CHLA, a time you gave excellent care (adult or peds example but mainly peds if you can), how you will you adapt culturally relevant care. Wish I would've asked when we could expect to hear back for 2nd round interviews! They just said second round interviews if chosen would start from may 27-June 6 just like the timeline given at the info session and depending on the units 2nd round interviews could be in person! Good luck :)!
  13. I applied for 5W & 6E! During the info sessions they said the ICU's and ED usually are the most competitive to apply into.
  14. My application said under review on 4/14 and updated on 4/24 with under review still!
  15. Hi everyone!! I applied the day the app opened for 5 west and 6 east :) good luck to everyone! Heres a pic of the timeline for everyone's reference:)
