  1. Sounds good! I also have an apartment in Albany with white boards and conference rooms to study in/utilize as well.
  2. Yeah, I'm in the AM lab and I'm in the group chat but so far haven't made a concrete group yet. I am definitely motivated and also want to form a group with likeminded classmates. I've spoken with upperclassmen who have said to expect about half of the class dropping out after the first semester so that really motivated me to try to find those with a good background knowledge and work ethic. But some people in my AM lab seem either lost or in their own groups/working independently.
  3. Hey I realized we're in the program but haven't shared contact info, I haven't really found a study group yet but I'm interested if your group is looking for more people.
  4. Name of Club is Utica ABSN-Fall 2024!
  5. I have a bachelor's in public health. I completely agree. What non-negative reviews were you able to find? I was trying to find some but came across none. When do you need to make your decision by? I have until May 14th.
  6. That sounds good! Are you considering other programs as well? Also, do you have other reservations or is it mainly the lack of support that people are saying? Lastly, if you don't mind me asking, what degree do you already have?
  7. Hi, I have not accepted yet but intend to next week. I would be very interested in study groups and things like that to build our own community/support system.
  8. Hi everyone, I was recently accepted into the Utica ABSN program in Latham NY and was hoping to get any advice or tips. I've come across poor reviews in terms of faculty support and high attrition rate but was wondering if there were any specifics. More so, is the program doable? How much time is needed to be invested on a weekly basis to cover lecture material? Is the lecture material/study material helpful on exams? How is the clinical lab experience? Do you feel as though you are on track to becoming a competent nurse? Really open to any and all advice before investing my time and money into this endeavor.
  9. I got accepted into the program and am very conflicted based on the reviews I've heard. It sucks that there is a lack of support from faculty, but would you be able to elaborate on if it is doable and how the lecture/study materials guide student learning for exams. Do you feel as though with the online courses, clinical labs and clinical experience that you can be a good nurse after all is said and done? Just curious since you are almost done with the program. Would you also be able to elaborate on what specialties are done at which hospitals? If you don't feel comfortable responding publicly, maybe you can PM me? I'd really love to find out more about the program and can't seem to find anyone else that will discuss it honestly and more in depth before I invest my time and money into this program.
