  1. Hello everyone, I'm currently exploring Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) programs, particularly in California where I have always lived (specifically the Bay Area), and I could use some advice. I still have a few prerequisite classes to complete before applying, but I've been researching different schools in advance. One thing I've noticed is that private schools offering ABSN programs in California often come with hefty tuition fees and less-than-stellar reviews. This has led me to focus more on public institutions, particularly within the California State University (CSU) system. However, given the competitiveness of these programs, I'm starting to wonder about exploring options outside of California. Here are some questions I have: 1. Out-of-State Options: Are there any out-of-state ABSN programs that California residents have had positive experiences with? I'm particularly interested in programs that offer a good balance of affordability and quality. 2. Job Prospects in California: Will obtaining an ABSN from an out-of-state program make it more challenging for me to find a job in California after graduation? Are there any additional steps or certifications I would need to take to practice in California? 3. Returning to California: If I choose to pursue an ABSN out of state, what steps would I need to take to return to California and work as a nurse? Are there any specific licensure or certification requirements unique to California that I should be aware of? I would greatly appreciate any insights, advice, or personal experiences you can share on these topics. Thank you in advance for your help!
