You might want to look into public health for the vaccines and tests. I live in Butte county and believe if you have medi-cal that the vaccines and also the PPD are covered. I originally had my PCP order my titers, had them done at Quest and found out I needed to get a varicella vaccine. I was able to schedule this at Walgreens and it was free. My PCP then recommended public health for the TB tests. When the semester starts I will not be completely compliant as I have to wait until the 13th of August to get the my second PPD because I got the varicella vaccine (I didn't know this was going to be a problem at the time). I explained this to NAHP and they were very understanding. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions ?

I looked the book up in the bookstore based off what the handbook said, but maybe we don't need it? Who knows LOL I'll email NAHP and let you all know what I hear.

Has anyone bought their books yet? I've only purchased this one so far: Medical-Surgical Nursing 10th Edition. Ignatavicius, Workman, Rebar, Heimgartner The handbook says a pathophysiology textbook too but doesn't say which one.

Hey everyone, If we no our complio isn't going to be complete by August 1st do we need to reach out to the nursing department? I can't get my second TB for another 3 weeks because of my varicella vaccine. Ugh!

I would love to know this answer too ? I remember at orientation they said theory day (Monday) would probably be 8 hours (8-4) and skills lab day (Tuesday) would probably be 6 hours (8-2). When I emailed them last week, it sounded like they were still finalizing the staffing for clinical days so maybe we'll know soon ??
