Hi @Sara Rae Yes, you have to purchase the stethoscope on your own, you can purchase any stethoscope of your preference, any brand. So for your first semester, the first 6 weeks of the semester everyone will at the simulation lab on campus practicing basic skills on your peers and Manikins. The remaining six weeks you will go to clinicals at the hospital they placed you. Hope this helps.

@Maria Cuadrado Hi Maria. For Spring semester. Mondays I had nutrition from 9-10:30. Med surg from 11:30-2:30pm and then pharmacology from 3:00-5:00pm. Tuesdays I had clinical from 1:00pm-7:00pm. Wednesdays I had pediatrics from 8:00am -10:30am and then clinicals from 3:00pm- 9:00pm. I was off Thursday, Friday, Saturday and sundays. You will have a mix of online, in person and hybrid classes. Some classes are EXTREMELY easy but each semester you will have 1 or 2 classes that will really challenge you. Every professor has their own individual personality. But trust me, don't stress, you guys will be fine.

@Maham Akhtar Hey ! No problem. Ask any questions you can. I was in the same place last year, I know the feeling. Opinions might defer from person to person. But the program is honestly great. Just like every program, You get out of this program what you put into it. There's nothing I can think of that I strongly dislike. Faculty is very supportive. Teachers and clinical instructors( For the most part). Any stethoscope is fine. Only thing they require for clinicals is to bring a stethoscope and a pen light. Closer to start of the semester they will email a link where you can purchase the clinical attire. Fall semester I took patho, health assessment with lab , clinical bases with lab , fundamentals and clinical calculations. Each lecture class is about 2 hours and 30 minutes once a week. Clinicals at the hospital are about 6 hours like 7:00am - 1:00pm or 3:00pm- 9:00pm. You have 1 day off during the week and weekends off each semester. If you happen to have clinicals on Saturday, you will have 2 days off during the week and Sundays off. About half of us in my cohort have very flexible part time jobs. The program is VERY demanding. If you plan/ need to work while in the program, I would recommend getting a job in which you can easily tell them you won't be able to make a shift if you have exams coming up without a problem. @PSB11 CONGRATS!! I probably will not be attending the open house. I am hoping there is a nursing orientation as the we get closer to the start of the program. But please share anything interesting about the open house :)
