  1. Hello all. Thanks for reading this. I am applying to ER after finishing up my nursing in August. I am already doing my final preceptorship in this hospital and this particular ER department. So here is my cover letter. Feedback wanted! Thanks so much! Dear Ms. X: As a forthcoming graduate in August 2007, from the University of X with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, I am interested in developing my knowledge and skills and grow as a professional nurse. I believe the Emergency Department at the X Community Hospital offers those opportunities. My interest in this department comes primarily from my final clinical practicum where I have been preceptored by one of your staff for the past three months. I am interested in the career opportunity posting LK-31224-GN. Enclosed is my resume, which indicated my past experiences. Thank you for taking the time to review my resume. I would be delighted to begin my career with your department. If you would like to contact me, my cellular number is xxx-xxx-xxxx, and my email is [email protected]. I look forward to speaking with you.
  2. Thanks so much, everyone for the posts. I will definately take all the advice into account!! Yes, I am very excited, but also very nervous about this last placement, because up to now, I do not feel very "competent" in that I have not experienced a great deal of diversity, or even had the chance to do many skill-based tasks (NGs, IV starts, cathethers etc....).!!
  3. So I'm starting out my final preceptorship for school on June 5, and I'm in emergency! So I have some questions for emergency nurses, especially those who have had students on their units etc. But, I'll post my first: What would be some good objectives (ie, learning goals) for me to strive to do for this final clinical rotation? I obviously want to go in, and learn AS MUCH as possible, but because I have never ever been in this setting, I am unsure what goals I should place for myself. Any input, would be great! Thx
