Columbia University Masters Direct Entry (Hybrid MDE) - Fall 2025
T Thank you so much for this, this is extremely helpful. This is what makes me nervous when I think about giving up my other acceptance. Would you mind if I sent you a little information about my current program for your thoughts based on my career goals and plans? I am currently enrolled in a school that is owned by New York Presbyterian Hospitals and they are already sending us job offers, volunteer opportunities etc, even for the new hospital opening in fall. And I was so done with any other school, then they sent e the email and I was not goign to apply. But then they sent me a fee waiver to apply so I was like why no, no harm no loss. So I just don't want to get hung up on this application, I am honestly ready to withdraw after today. I am just over them and the wiaitng and the back and forth.

Columbia University Masters Direct Entry (Hybrid MDE) - Fall 2025
Alright, well I am going to try to sit tight, I just hate being in Limbo. And my other school is asking for things to be done asap that cost money. And I have been pushing it off all month waiting to hear back from Columbia.I am thinking its my refences maybe they are the hold up, but other than that I could not tell you what else it would be, my application was transferred from my previous one. But I was also taking prerequs for another program that I submitted to them as soon as it was done earlier this month. so IDK but its making me nervous and I just wish they would do eveything at once. And thank you for letting me know, 8/4 is next week Monday, so I'm assuming they would let whoever else has not hear back yet know at least a week from that date, hopefully.

Columbia University Masters Direct Entry (Hybrid MDE) - Fall 2025
Thank you!! And same, I haven't receive my offer from Columbia yet, I reached out tot hem this morning so I'm waiting to hear back and see what the hold up is. Once received I'll decide, but I'm a little weary because I've heard not the best things, and the first of any program usually is like a "guinea pig" type situation. Not to mention if everything is already organized and laid out, and I'm turned off by the 24 months vs 15 months in the regular MDE. I tried calling but no one is answering Also quick questions, for those that receive their offer. How much are they requiring as a deposit for a seat and how long do you have to submit it? I want to talk to my family about it and if I don't hear back for my them this week I'm just gonna forgo them because it's just unprofessional and unorganized at this point, they do this every single admissions cycle ...

Yeah they sent me the email after I already accepted another school. So I'm just waiting to hear back, I'm not sure why I still haven't Back. But I'm currently enrolled to start at another school in the fall and it's only 14 months. So IDK I'll just sit and see but not stressing, no need!

Congratulations on your offer, first off! I'm praying I will be joining you, but whatever is meant to be will be. I have other options for programs but Ithis is my top choice. Yeah they need to do better, it's not fair to applicants and it's every year they have issues with this. Ugh I pray it's not a whole other week, but we'll see. Also it's not realty as many applicants so I'm wondering if there's an error? IDK I'm not gonna over think

So they sent the email about "rounds over the next 2 weeks" on 2/16 so tomorrow would make it two weeks. I feel like after that I may email just to see when we can expect it. I would assume it would have to be before visitors day on the 7th! Congratulations to everyone who received acceptances, so happy for you all! Sorry to hear to those who heard back and it was a decision you did not want. Keep your head up theres so many great programs and all you need is the one acceptance. Wishing everyone the best.- Columbia University Masters Direct Entry (MDE) Summer 2025
Wow end of the month... I called the office today I spoke to the same lady from last time and her demeanor was different. She was frustrated and annoyed last time but today she said "I'm sorry I know" I asked her if Friday is the last day we can expect to hear since it's two weeks and she said I don't know....I'm wondering if there is a definitive date anymore congratulations to all that were already accepted! And everyone else waiting take heart and stay positive !!- Columbia University Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) - 2025

^^^^! I think they have a retention problem in their admissions offices. I applied lasts year but withdrew my application once I was not able to get into the pre-req classes until Summer registration. But the admissions consultant that was working with students has changed from last year to the end of that cycle. Then there was a new one form Summer to fall. And the girl I've been in contact with my whole application this year is ent her an email and it sent an automatic reply that her last day was Jan 30th or something. So it seems like it's stemming from an internal issue within the admission office. Which sucks for students, but like I said I really think we as collective should say someone once everyone puts their deposits in of course. In hopes they do better for next time! But for now we just have to stay positive and hopeful, the whole batch in two weeks things is ridiculousssss it rlly is. It feels like undergrad applications which is why it seems like they are just so short staffed I just hope the quality of applicant review of review is not jeopardized.- Columbia University Masters Direct Entry (MDE) Summer 2025
Yeah I didn't quote you or anybody else or message above. It wasn't directed to anyone specifically just a general statement for people still waiting. Im just reiterating what admissions told me. I kept seeing ppl asking for someone to please call but I waited until end of the week just in case things changed by the end of the week. The lady was frustrated and was saying people keep calling and everyone is anxious because they keep listening to other people. So I'm just saying to anyone else waiting don't assume based off what we see on forums because truth is we really don't know how decisions or being rolled out or the methodology! but like you said it is anxious ridden regardless and good luck to everyone!- Columbia University Masters Direct Entry (MDE) Summer 2025
Yeah, I do think nursing schools as a whole can be better accommodating for families. The planning especially if you are changing locations can be tedious. Definitely let them know your positioning in hopes of bettering their admissions down the line for others in your situation. Wishing you and your family the best of luck! Hopefully things turn out just as planned! Good Luck everyone!- Columbia University Masters Direct Entry (MDE) Summer 2025
I understand your positioning. In the universities defense they are not "late".this is the time they come out with applications in mid February. Last year my friend got their acceptance on the 13th. It's not an ideal admission time, yes I agree. But Yale's application deadline is not even until March 1st, many similar programs are still accepting applications. So in YOUR predicament it's not convenient, yes I agree, but that does not mean it the same for everyone. They are not "late" for my timeline. In fact many peer programs in the Tristate area are still accepting applications and send decisions out until a 1.5 months before the program starts. Secondly, no one is asking people to "behave" any differently. We are all adults behave how you want deal with your own consequences. However, it's not correct to be make assumptions based off of a forum that is not fully indicative of the application pool in and trying to determine "the specialties receive it or acceptances first, rejection last" etc. That is simply what I was referring too-mindfulness. Being mindful of "other" individuals waiting and expressing anxiety. The email the sent was simple and vague I agree. But there is nothing confusing about it. "Decisions will be rolled out in batches over the next two weeks.” It's just vague and it's human nature for us to be impatient and wanting to know more. Hence, leading to forums hence reading into what other proper say, wondering if they got their admissions, or if they did what specialty they applied for, etc etc... confusion comes from that my friend. Sit tight, I wish you the best and I hope you receive your admission decision soon! Good luck! So again, to those that agree or not whatever, big congratulations to all who already received their acceptances. Good luck to those waiting, the best is yet to come!!
