Curry, Scores and any other help :)
Hi there, So I have some questions that hopefully someone out there can shed some honest light on ~ I am currently in the process of gathering all of the necessary paper work etc. in preparation for applying to accelerated BSN programs - specifically at Curry College (MA) and UMass Amherst. I would be an international student and with it being my 'second' career, am not fresh out of school. Not being familiar with the US system, please can someone give me some honest answers: I took GREs as required as I don't have all of the pre-reqs (am hoping to complete those in the fall) and scored 550 and 550 verbals and quant. ~ is this really terrible?? Am planning on retaking them next month. How much would 'life experience' count ? I have been teaching for 8 years - is this going to work in my favour at all? A few programs I have looked at have been fairly vague in terms of what they want for GRE scores ~ my GPA for my first degree is around 3.0 - am I being COMPLETELY unrealistic in applying for the accel. programs? Does anyone have an experience with Curry, MA?? Finally - is one more 'employable' with a BSN (even if it is accelerated) than an Associates Degree? What are the major differences when looking for a job? Many thanks for any help - much appreciated :)
