  1. Well from what I've heard it's a universal backlog so direct entry nurses and NCP are facing the same issue so unless they resolve it you'll be backlogged too. They said likely 6-9 months after NCLEX. Trust me I'm praying they resolve it because I really need to go sooner. I'll let you know if I find out something new.
  2. Yes congrats to us both! I graduate in May 2026 I'm hoping it's not too long of a wait on ODS but I've been told it's possible that I won't get a slot until beginning of 2027 ?
  3. That's awesome I actually submitted for the October board and was selected as well! I swore in right before thanksgiving!
  4. I don't know your entire personal situation, but I personally have an active-duty husband and three kids, and while it definitely requires a lot of time, commitment, and organization, it is manageable. I also have ADHD and have found I thrive the most when I keep an organized calendar. If it isn't in my Apple calendar, it doesn't exist LOL. There are many non-traditional students with a variety of personal challenges or commitments, and we've all managed to succeed. You can too, you just have to find what works for you! Personally, one of the reasons I am glad I chose APSU is that the faculty are extremely supportive of non-traditional students and strive to be accommodating in reasonable circumstances.
  5. This is a good statement! I just submitted this year, curious how the rest of the process went for you. Did you get selected? When did you hear back by?
  6. I submitted a packet to the U.S. Navy's Nurse Candidate Program, and I wanted to create a space and connect with others who are also waiting to hear back about their packets right now. Hoping we hear back within the next 2 weeks!
  7. Yes, I did, I am actually going to graduate from the program in May 2026! I'm very happy with my choice to go with them!
  8. Does anyone know the cap of the DUINS program for naval nurses pursuing an advanced degree? Is there a cap on the amount per credit hour the program will pay?
  9. I am looking into getting mine there and the pricing is very reasonable and I've heard good things about the program. I have a degree already and they said a lot of my pre-reqs would be waived for humanities and English so I mostly am completing the sciences then I can go straight to the nursing curriculum which would be about 5 semesters long.
  10. Thank you for sharing, can I ask how you got into the volunteer work? I'd like to do more things like that to gain more experience and strengthen my resume/application but I don't have any kind of medical background in my current career so I'm struggling to figure out how to add more things with that. I think I'm going to just try and find a BSN or ABSN program and reapply next cycle too ?? it would be wonderful to meet y'all sometime!
  11. Congrats to you both, I didn't get in for nurse midwifery and I'm completely heartbroken. Can I ask what your background and stats are like so I can improve in the future? I have a 3.83 graduate GPA for my previous masters degree. I felt like my essays were really good and I had them heavily reviewed so I just don't know where I went wrong.
  12. I applied Nurse Midwifery as well! I haven't seen anything yet today but I'm so anxious to hear!
  13. I hope it's earlier than that or I'll be at a work Christmas party ? I'm so nervous!! Tomorrow is going to drag on!
  14. AHHHH I think my heart skipped a beat I'm soooo anxious. Vanderbilt is not only my top choice, but currently the only one that would work for my current family situation and I really want this ? best of luck everyone!
