They didn't mention what units were available. They had asked me what units I was interested in. They did mention it wasn't guaranteed but they like to take note of our preferences.

Hi!! I'm soo sorry to hear this! I feel the same! I've been on indeed looking for an opportunity to give me some hands on experience while I wait for a residency to take a chance on me but no one wants a nurse without experience. So I really have no idea what I'm supposed to do in the meantime. The next residency programs should be starting fall, so applications should start opening up soon. Niklaus applications become available August 19, Baptist not specific but it says August-September, Jackson doesn't have any information available..

Hi all, I am having trouble getting a job as a new graduate nurse in Miami. I am looking for a bedside position and I'm told that my only option is a new grad nurse residency. I have applied to many hospitals.. Baptist, Jackson, UM, Mount Sinai, but I haven't gotten selected for interviews at any. I have my BSN, and I already passed the NCLEX. Does anyone have any insight or advice on how to navigate this process? Are any of you experiencing the same thing? Thanks!

Oh wow crazy! Yes it's so hard to find something. I have no idea what to do in the meantime. The next residencies would start in October.

I applied to both Baptist and Jackson and received an email they were not moving forward with my application.

I applied to the one at the hospital.

Yes and I got email confirmation they selected their candidates.

I called and was told they are not doing any more interviews for the July program so I guess they have filled it. Have you applied anywhere else?

Yeah I noticed they closed it a bit ago. My application status changed to "under review" a month ago, but no call or email from them yet. There is an email listed at the bottom of this page https://www.hr.miami.edu/careers/job-fairs/index.html to contact regarding residency program, you can try emailing them to ask for an update or any questions you may have specifically. I have tried but they say they are reviewing all candidates as there have been a lot of applicants. If you do email, please keep us up to date on their response!

Hello, I haven't heard back from them. I was notified that they started calling the first week of April. When did you apply? Do you know anyone else that applied to the program?

I sent an email to the contact info listed under the residency listing on the UM job fairs website, and they responded saying they were reviewing resumes last week and this coming week. I also asked regarding interviews and they responded saying its a panel interview. No other information. I hope we hear back by the end of the week! ?

Great! I applied the 15th too! I was hoping we'd hear back today since it's been 2 weeks. Hopefully next week! ? What unit are you hoping for?
