Yea, I'm not too worried about it honestly. I think the recruiters are sorting through hundreds of offers for different hospitals.. I had interviews at a few Providence locations and the same recruiter was the point-of-contact for different hospitals. I think they are just extremely busy. I wouldn't worry until it's past the 4 week mark after your interview since they said 2-4 weeks. So, I interviewed January 5th.. I will reach out to the recruiter if I don't hear anything by February 2nd.

Hi! I received an offer from Tarzana and that was also the last email I received. The assistant manager of my unit assured me not to worry, she said the offer stands and is "for sure,” it just may take some time for the recruiters to put together the official offer.

Interviewed today as well. Felt like I did well on the case study, as in I knew exactly what was going on with the patient.. but really just focused on pertinent information for the SBAR. Not sure if that's what they wanted. I also felt like I sounded nervous, if you guys know what I mean. Could've been better, but could've been worse.

Yes. I interviewed on Monday and got the call today. San Pedro may have a different timeline than Tarzana. No, we didn't go to the floor to meet the managers. We did take a tour of the hospital after the interview but it wasn't a meet and greet.

Hi, so sorry for the confusion.. I believe the info session was for those that have already been invited to interview. I know this whole process can be frustrating.

Hi! Yes, I've received interview invites for more than one SoCal location. I applied to all at the same time and put all of them as my first choice hospital. Good luck!

Hi! I'm external, completed clinical/preceptorship at Tarzana, ADN with BSN in progress, home health experience, no skills on resume.. but do have honors, leadership, and volunteer experience/hours listed. As well as BLS, ACLS, NIH, and fire safety. Resume is 1 page. It is a point system now, so you get more points for BSN vs ADN, more points for experience, etc. Which I prefer over first come, first serve honestly. I truly believe we will all end up exactly where we're meant to be.

If you are someone who learns by reading word for word, then yes - start reading ASAP. I don't learn like that, so I did not do that. It is definitely important to figure out how you learn for this program.. Visual? Auditory? Reading/Writing? This is key, because your learning style needs to be implemented soon to ensure your success in the program. Especially before 3rd semester - it's brutal. Definitely know the objectives for each module, you will be tested on those. For my cohort, they were accepting alternates up until the Friday before class started. Like if someone didn't show up to orientation, they were dropped and an alternate was offered the spot. So just be prepared for that. I have pdf versions of all of my books, except Clinical Skills. The main one you will be using throughout the program is the Medical-Surgical textbook. We used Lewis and I am almost positive they have changed it to a different publisher now, but I am willing to send it if you want it or if you think it will be helpful. Some instructors do give out study guides. They can be quite vague sometimes, and it's honestly subjective if you find them helpful.. some of my cohort did, others didn't. The instructors teaching lecture for 1st semester are pretty solid and great about letting you know what you need to know, if you know what I mean. While lecture and the exams are hard and you definitely need to focus your time and energy on studying, make sure you hone your clinical skills too. Develop solid assessment skills, be prepared for your medication passes, know your patients and their history well, etc. You won't know all of this day 1, but just work hard to develop these skills as best as you can. There are plenty of people who have passed lecture, but failed clinical.
