Received my application not going through today even if I got an email my application been referred to hiring manager and never got a call. I have been applying for 1 year and I have 10 months experience in the unit I applied for. So to be fair IDK what these hospitals in San Diego looking for when selecting new grads. You would think having some experience will be easier to get in but still no luck. I ended up getting hired at the VA which is more competitive and I have not reached my 1 year yet bedside nurse. I guess hospitals nowadays a days is all about who you know. Good-luck everyone! Yeah! I been applying to all the residency programs in san diego and finally went to hiring manager. Usually if you don't get an email theres a chance you didn't make it this cohort to get interviewed. I would say I think each department has its own timeline when they start reaching out to candidates

Yes, It was in email, this second time applying. Ortho/neuro since I currently have 8 months of experience working in same specialty. So I just picked something that I already know.

@Hunterjohnson , sorry to hear that! I am currently working in Florida, and a lot of people are telling me to stay until I get my 1 year here. However, it is not even guaranteed that I will get a job after my 1 year, since it's so competitive there. I had tried Kaiser, Sharp, Rady's, and Palomar. I do know someone who is already internal with Kaiser and working as an LVN, but has her RN and still can't get in with Kaiser since it's all seniority.

Just received another denial email today this was my second time applying. I'd really appreciate any feedback from those who are getting interviews. Do you have your ASN or BSN? Any additional certifications like ACLS? Did you complete your preceptorship at Scripps? I currently have about 8 months of acute care experience working in a hospital, and it's honestly crazy how competitive it is to get a job in San Diego. I'm currently working out of state, but still trying to break into that area.

Are we able to check our status?

It is just frustrating because there is no way to find out our status of application until we receive an email ?

Same! Its my second time around too. I noticed those who got in last time had their ACLS, PALS and didn't matter if it was BSN they took ASN as well. Okay, I had put it on my cover letter

I just applied how come this time didn't give me option on what department I want?

Starting this trend since I haven't seen one posted yet for San Diego Residency March 2026. Applications started already
