  1. Congrats guys! Summer will be the last trimester for the inaugural cohort! As for group chats, I would highly recommend orchestrating a group me chat. That's what my cohort uses. We set it up on orientation day and utilized that til we got Discord up and running and now we use both. Student Gov / SNA will be at your orientation to help facilitate both of those things as well :]
  2. If I remember correctly we were given our clinical schedule during orientation so we had a while to prepare. Clinicals won't start until week 7 or 8 if your program is similarly structured. The first handful of weeks are learning skills to prepare for clinicals ? during the first 7 weeks we had one day in person and an optional Friday open lab which I would definitely utilize to your full advantage!
  3. There are people who did that this semester and I will say two of them said they're moving for the upcoming semester. In the beginning it was one day a week for skills learning. Then it'll be one day a week for skills and one day for clinical with some simulation days. Fridays are open lab which is theoretically practice but we quickly learned you need to attend a few of them to get sign offs for skills that you may not be able to finish in the skills class. So some weeks you're in person 1-2 or 1-3 days. It's doable, but I will say the ones who have been doing it all semester have said how tired they are. Some clinicals start at 545 am so also something to keep in mind.
  4. It was basically an orientation to the school and the program. It was a full day of going over everything. It was a lot of information so definitely have your coffee in the morning and come prepared to listen to a lot of talking and getting to know your cohort ?
  5. I am in it now! I really like the program personally but there are a varying range of emotions about the program. I will say it is extremely fast paced and very self directed in the sense of you have an outline of the module for the week but mostly learn by reading and teaching yourself. The staff have been supportive with supplemental material this semester but I assume that varies by professor. It is a new program so there are growing pains but overall I have been happy this semester. I think you get out of it what you put into it, and expect to put a LOT of time and energy into it.
  6. About 7 weeks before the program start date. I found out I was accepted on 7/21 and orientation was 8/14 with program start date of 9/11.
  7. Sorry I'm from Vegas but some of the people I've met so far are from Cali so they might be able to help out once they find housing ?
  8. I can't direct message you for some reason ? can you try messaging me your email? Honestly is wasn't a detailed email at all. It mainly just said they will be providing lunch and going over all the forms we need to submit.
  9. I wasn't able to attend the info session due to my work schedule, do you happen to have a copy of the whole info packet?
  10. @jdn038 I am pleased to inform you that the School of Nursing at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is recommending you to the Graduate College for Fall 2023 admission to the Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEMSN) program. We had a very highly qualified applicant pool in this admission round for 2023. Pending final approval of the Graduate College, in the coming days you will receive official notification of your acceptance, along with details about the matriculation process in Grad Rebel Gateway. After that was a link to accept and information about orientation.
