Hi I just graduated in Aug and passed NCLEX :) It was great for me. I did not work, and got all As and Bs. It was tough but you just have to put in the work. Clinical placements were all basically all 25 mins or less for me. I live in Austin. The placements were all Baylor Scott & White hospitals except my mental health rotations. BS&W were nice hospitals!

That is great, me too. The teachers imo are amazing. They are always open to questions, and emails so never fear reaching out to them. You can also set up zoom appts. They truly want to see you succeed, so that helps immensely. I have heard of other nursing programs that are very strict on deadlines and give harsh punishments for late assignments, but our teachers are very understanding and generally will work with you if you have something going on. Teachers are engaged as much as they would be as if in person. I wouldn't say I have a relationship with them though but I also don't put in that effort so I believe it's also what you put in.

Hi Haley, I am really enjoying this program. Tips would be to not be committed to anything else during the program if possible. Put in the time to study. Be professional and studious. The convenience of finishing nursing school in a year for a BSN, and also doing school from home, was awesome. Both of those two things were my biggest concern before committing to the DABSN program because I was worried about not bonding with my cohort or having an in person experience, and also thought the length of the program would make it difficult. However, it worked out great for me and am so grateful I pick this program.

I think the best we can do is either create one for facebook if that is where we end up going and then read previous threads on here, which I think is just this one! It has helped me though. ?

Same. I am torn between the in person experience and an online experience. I feel like online you would be less supported but I have been hearing the opposite and the people in that cohort have already made a facebook group, a thread on here, and also a group me. A group me even started by a cohort who is about to graduate soon, and they created it to just talk to us and give us tips and advice. That could just be due to Baylor having more cohorts than TLU.

Hi there! How is your decision process going? I currently eliminated one program and now, still between these two programs. My pros and cons is the same as you listed. It is comforting to know that I am not the only one having a hard time making this decision!

Hello, I am on the fence for this program and Baylor's Distance ABSN. Can anyone who went to this program please give some details on the program about what you liked and what you did not like? Baylor was my first choice, however, when I found it is all online and I won't exactly have a cohort to study in person with, it made me very hesitant. From my research, TLU has just as good of a program, so I am torn!

Hi, everyone! I have been accepted in the DABSN program for Fall 2023. I am so excited, however, how does this distance thing work with getting to know anyone in our cohort? I'll be in Austin. Is anyone in Austin and would like to start a study group? Also, has anyone talked to someone else who graduated from this program. I am curious to know how it is since it's all online.
