Braving the CA BON
Hi, I know this is an old post but I was just wondering how you got on with CA BON and if you did indeed have to top up for any deficiencies?

UK TRAINED NURSE - NOTHING BUT HURDLES
I was hoping I'd see good news from you! I'm also a RN here in the UK but peds trained and I'm having a nightmare with trying to find any correct Information out there. Californias board of nursing is now saying they may not accept me as I was peds trained even though my university theory and some practical was in all areas ??

Nurse making the jump from UK to USA, needing a bit of advice
I'm so glad to see this! May I ask what state you applied to? I'm currently in this process and getting no where with CA BON. They've also told me that I'll get automatically declined cause I was pediatric trained. Which Is the first time I've heard that.

UK Staff nurse to US RN - is it possible?
So whichever state you applied to I would ask for their guidance on what you need to sit the NCLEX. Some states are more helpful than others. Let me know how you get on though. I'll be doing this in the next few years when I get my visa

UK Staff nurse to US RN - is it possible?
Hi, so apparently you can go to a community college in the US and are able to top up just for certain hours that you're missing. I may have the same issue but with adult hours.

UK Staff nurse to US RN - is it possible?
Hi Guys, seeing all your replies is giving me hope! I'm hoping to go and live with my partner California and complete the NCLEX prior to going out there. The only issue I've got is that to apply to the CABON I need a SSN or a ITIN number which I clearly don't have and an ITIN is hard to get so just wondering if anyone else has applied to Cali here and been successful or have any tips? I've just received my university transcripts as I'm a Registered Children's nurse I was worried, however my transcripts show 2/3 semesters a year were general nursing theory lectures and I did complete spoke placements in each field of obstetrics/adult/mental health etc. So I'm really hopeful in that sense.
