Hi there, I was wondering whether anyone has had to do make up units in order to meet requirements for the CGFNS in the United States, and if so, did you have the option of doing these in your home country or must they be undertaken in the United States. Is it a straight forward process or does it cause a big delay to the whole process. In particular, would love to hear from any Aussie nurses who had obtained licensing in the United Stateswith or without having to do make up units. Cheers, Damien

Hi all, I am planning on studying nursing next year here in Australia and am considering a number of two year accelerated degrees which will give me a BSN and allow me to work in Australia as an RN. I am of the understanding that so long as the course covers Paediatrics, Obstetrics, and Psychiatry in both clinical and theory, then the course will meet the requirements for registration in the United States. Does anybody know if there will be an issue with it being a two year degree? Anybody know of any accelerated courses in Australia which meet this reqiurement. A lot of the course descriptions do not go into detail about what is covered in various clinical units. Ive sent of some emails to various nursing schools here about their courses but just waiting for the replies. Any info would be a great help. Cheers, Damien
