It's still an elite program. I know a few people that was in the program and some people who are in it now. The program itself is elite and competitive. There are some people who cannot even finish the program because they can't handle it. You will find out the truth once you actually start and see for yourself how many people you will end up graduating with at the end.

This is also another reason for me. My GPA at a university I started at was low while also in a different major before I decided to go with Nursing. But once I got into city colleges and focused on nursing pre reqs I improved my grades and GPA. My GPA for City Colleges meets requirements but since they calculate GPA from transcripts from outside colleges, my GPA ended up below requirements. I explained this in my letter as well as the fact that I fell I'll during the end of my pre reqs.

Yes this is true because I would want to really feeL like I really deserved it due to working hard to get accepted. But I think it's because they don't always get enough qualified applicants that always meet both require btw for TEAS and GPA to fill all the seats. I also think it depends on other circumstances on who gets to write the letter. Like my situation was that I am retaking some science classes for the second time so they're probably seeing that on my record. And other circumstances. Because I also applied before and was close to being accepted before I became ill.

Thank you. Please don't get discouraged. The good thing is that you can apply each semester since they admit students each semester. Please don't let this get you down. And you can also use one more semester to improve your GPA while waiting for a decision for the next application round.

Yes it was an email from (MODERATOR EDIT). Saying that the nursing admissions committee wants me to write a concession letter explaining my low GPA and it had to be sent directly to them.

Thank you. I got an email saying that a decision was made on my application . Then checked my portal and it was there.

I just received an offer a few minutes ago and accepted it right away.

Yea it's kinda late now. I wonder if they might still accept more students before the orientation.

I have a really low GPA. Too embarrassed to even say it here. But I think the only reason I was given a chance is because I actually did every prerequisite before a few years ago but got really sick and had to take a long leave of absence from school which I explained in my letter. This was right before I was getting ready to even be accepted into the nursing program. I have been retaking most science prerequisites these last few semesters because they are close to expiring and I still need it to do my BSN later at UIC. I think what also gave me a chance was because I did good on the TEAS.

I just checked my portal and my Admissions Cumulative GPA changed to waived and it shows viable candidate now. For the ones that had to write concession letters check your portal.

The clinical coordinator haven't replied to my email yet. She was a CC in the email from the admissions committee so I guess she knows to start looking at my medical medical documents. I hope she lets me know something soon. You should email the admissions committee and see if they reviewed your letter. Maybe they're still getting to more people.

The nursing admissions committee just sent an email saying that they reviewed my concession letter and if I complete my medical documents and background check that I can be offered a seat. But they have already been completed and shows complete on my portal. I sent an email letting her know and she told me to follow up with the clinical coordinator. So I sent them an email. We may still have a chance because others are still getting offers.
