  1. There are a few people here that heard back at the very end of March and early April, but I haven't heard of anything in the last few weeks
  2. @Elegantabalone @currentaccel.RNstudent I met with one of the deans a few months ago, they have added more seats for this upcoming year to something like 280 if I'm remembering correctly
  3. It's on here, "Ontario 2023 Accelerated Nursing Admissions"
  4. Just heard on another forum that UofT sent out another round! Congrats to all who heard back ?
  5. Congrats!! If you request to join the facebook page you'll be added to the chat ?
  6. Just wanted to share that I got an offer from UofT on March 31 - It seems like they haven't done another round yet but I'm not sure!
  7. @maya08 this sounds like a solid idea
  8. Off the top of my head, athabasca maybe? I just did a quick search and found this https://www.athabascau.ca/course/index.html?/undergraduate/all/all I could be wrong but the courses seem to be self-paced? I may have found something through conestoga... https://studentportal.conestogac.on.ca/StudentPortal/Default.aspx?mgid=0&smid=5&ssmid=0&MODId=17&Key=physiology&CRSId=33074 and https://studentportal.conestogac.on.ca/StudentPortal/Default.aspx?mgid=0&smid=5&ssmid=0&MODId=17&Key=physiology&CRSId=33276 are like anat/phys 1 and 2, the amount of hours and descriptions makes me think they're half courses. They are each worth 1 unit. You have the option to start the first one April 12-Jun 12, and part 2 is May 17-July 17...they overlap so you could theoretically take them at the same time (they're both offered in the April-June time slot) - That said, I don't even know if UofT would accept these. Alternatively, they have an anat/phys course that seems to be geared toward nursing students? More hours than the two of those ^^ combined and it's worth 4 units, offered May 9th - Aug 15th → https://studentportal.conestogac.on.ca/StudentPortal/Default.aspx?mgid=0&smid=5&ssmid=0&MODId=17&Key=physiology&CRSId=39123 might be too late in the year though. This is what I found in five min of googling, there were at least three other ontario colleges that popped up that I didn't click on. If you look hard enough, odds are there's a perfect course timing-wise that uoft will accept.
  9. I think you would still have to finish it by May 31st, you just only need a c-
  10. I'm so sorry for your losses - I know how hard it can be to get through school at the same time. I'm wondering if you might be able to use your grade from before you withdrew as some evidence that you know the material. I was in the SCS phys course when I applied and we just had to upload our "expected" grade, and I included screenshots of all of the quiz scores up to that point. I wonder if theres an equivalent course you could do in the Spring? I feel like a Spring course they'll be able to wait for you.
  11. I'd say the chances of them waiting for you to finish over the Summer are slim...but that's only one potential solution. I mean it also depends on when you would finish. I know anatomy is a pretty strict prerequisite course, but there are a bunch of things you can try to help make your case. UofT (and I'm assuming other schools) have a list of topics that need to be covered in the course to be considered equivalent to the anatomy prereq. Before I took UofT's compressed physiology course, I figured out that all of the material in the list was covered in a mixture of courses I had already taken so I could have probably had the prerequisite waived. I took the course anyway because I thought it would be a good idea. So I'd look into your previous courses and see where anatomy/phys topics have maybe been covered. If you can demonstrate that you do know the material and that you have a good chance of succeeding in the program, I don't see why they wouldn't consider you.
  12. When I got into Mac lifesci I got in with an 87 and my conditional was an 87, they later dropped it to 85 - probably one of the most stressful couple months of my life. You've got this!! I spoke with one of the deans, she really made it seem like they care a lot about soft skills and although clinical experiences are valuable, they're really looking for diversity.
  13. "Offer" on OUAC? on JOIN I had "admitted"
  14. Probably! IDK why theyd do it any other way, it seems to be what they do every year. Also don't discount evenings and weekends, I got the email at 8pm Friday. fingers crossed for you!!
  15. I havent heard anything about scholarships yet so I assume later
  16. I had an A average in my fourth year (lifesci @ Mac) and an MA in medical anthro where my research was in community supports for people with postpartum depression - my background and experiences are mostly in public health! I'm surprised - it's early compared to previous years...
  17. @lysistratarex okay so just kidding I have no idea where my notes are for that meeting. From what I remember, she described the logistics of the program to me, how the different courses are evaluated etc. The major points from our convo were that a) admission is competitive, b) the program is very supportive, and c) they strongly value diversity. After our conversation, I found a program review from 2009-2016 with some of the figures I was looking for. (Link at bottom) From 2009 to 2016 admission averages rose from 3.6 - 3.8, I imagine it's higher now. (Looks like there was ~175 students each year between 2009 and 2016) Between 2011 and 2016, 11-15% of admitted students had completed a graduate degree. "close to 100% of admitted students enter the program with a four year completed degree or higher" (page 20) From 2009 to 2016, applicant numbers rose from ~650 to ~750, ~240-270 offers were made each year, and 160-180 students registered. (We know now that there are more spots, and I'm guessing more applicants.) "The selection of candidates is made through a careful and thorough process by the Admissions Committee. This process ensures that students offered admission have a history of involvement in extramural or community activities, the potential for high academic achievement, and the capacity to be successful in a program focused on the care of others. By requiring a full-course equivalent in the social sciences and the humanities for admission, the committee encourages a breadth of knowledge across other disciplines." (page 21) I'm under the impression they accept students who they really believe will excel in the program. There is a very low attrition rate and a very high NCLEX pass rate compared with the rest of Ontario. They really care about the points on the website about interdisciplinarity, collaboration, etc. Based on the current website, I imagine that they score and rank each applicant according to final year GPA, prerequisite grades, personal statement, community involvement/volunteering/extracurricular activities. The personal statement and community involvement scores probably have specific criteria including evidence of the program's values found here: https://bloomberg.nursing.utoronto.ca/about/vision-mission-values/ These are all just my thoughts! https://bloomberg.nursing.utoronto.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Nursing-Self-Study-for-UTQAP-Review-2017.pdf
  18. I looked immediately too LOL - doesn't seem like it. There are roughly 200 spots this year, how many do you think got offers on the first day? I imagine once more ppl get in a facebook group will pop up. *oop just saw the link my bad* They usually continue sending offers into June from what I've seen, I can't imagine the first round was very big...
  19. UofT just emailed me! See y'all in the fall! ?
  20. Just curious - what was the condition? Did they say you needed to achieve a certain grade in the course?
  21. My first thought is that this means they've accepted you into a different program?
  22. @btrice895 I feel like if you have prerequisite courses in your Winter term, like stats, you might be one of the ones to get a later offer. If they have all your prerequisite grades and all that's left is your final GPA, they probably send out conditional offers. I just finished physiology through the school of continuing studies, and they want the grade sent in asap. They won't accept you until they see the grades in prerequisite courses. Not all of the offers will be conditional because some people applying are finished with everything. But, if you're in school now, the offer will prob be conditional based on your GPA.
  23. @Ad8 you should def email them and ask. It would probably help to mention any other phys based courses you've taken. For uoft I decided to take their school of continuing studies physiology course to cover my bases, but if I had emailed with a list of my previous courses (neuroscience, sensory systems, endocrinology, metabolic diseases, paleo pathology, etc) they'd probably exempt the requirement because I've covered essentially all the material elsewhere.
  24. @Ad8 I only applied to UofT. I graduated with my masters in 2022, so I've just started paying back my student loans - don't exactly wanna add to that more than I have to now that I'm seeing it up close LOL
  25. I've been wondering this too - the only date I've found that seems to be definite was a reddit post mentioning that first offers went out on April 8th of that year (I think it was 2021?) and then every/every other Friday decisions were sent out. Don't think I've ever been this anxious to hear back LOL
