  1. Hello Fellow New Grads! Starting this thread for anyone that applied to the Dignity New Grad RN cohort for the East Valley AZ that starts this October 2024 to help keep each other updated on the application process, interviews, timelines etc. I applied back on 8/2 and got a follow up email to provide more info on 8/5, but since then, nothing! My application still says Under Hiring Manager Review on the career site. Has anyone else heard anything more yet?
  2. Anytime!! ? now I gotta get back to studying, exam on Thursday! ?
  3. I also thought I learned better in person, but I feel like the program does a decent job of helping us learn self paced at home! And yes! There is a group of us that have literally become like sisters and honestly the three of them are what keeps me afloat in the program! I also think both programs have a mentorship program that connects new students with students in the cohort above them to help them navigate which is also so helpful!
  4. I think they are equal in person and online. First semester you're in person a lot more because there are more in person lectures, skills labs, simulations, etc but then second and third we only go in for lecture one day a week and skills lab one day a week until clinicals start in mid February. You have to commit to having Monday-Friday 7-6 completely open for school because the schedules are all over the place, but I'd say we are online 75% of the time. No real advice other than don't buy any supplies other than a stethoscope and BP cuff until after school starts bc you'll find out exactly what you need as you need it. Oh and first semester I even had I think 4 clinical shifts on a Saturday, so there is that as well.
  5. Definitely go for the scholarship!! It's hard to say what helped me, as we were the first cohort to be offered the scholarship, and I think pretty much anyone who applied for it got it, but I'd just stress that you'd for sure be staying in AZ post graduation and how much of an impact you can make on our state as a nurse! The professors in Gilbert are amazing and have worked with me when I've needed time for my kiddos (however that's only been twice as I try really hard to separate the two! My husband is a HUGE help there, you'll need support at home for sure.) The schedule is all over the place and changes every semester so it's hard to plan ahead, you and your support just need to be very flexible.
  6. Hi Katie! I am in the MEPN program currently and am expected to graduate August 2024! I was also accepted to both MEPN and BSN-IH and went with MEPN for 2 reasons, 1. I wanted a masters degree and 2. I qualified for and received the AIMS scholarship, which is covering my full tuition! Not sure if it's still available for incoming MEPN students, but if so definitely check it out! The MEPN program is VERY fast paced and demanding, but I'm a married mom or two (almost 8 and just turned 4 year olds) and I'm surviving! You just need amazing time management skills. From what I've heard from current BSN-IH students, their curriculum is not as demanding. let me know if you have any other questions! ? Rachael
  7. Oh excellent! I was ready to try and give you as many tips as possible to speed it up but you don't need them! SO EXCITING!!
  8. Congratulations Mim and Rachel!! I'm also in the Gilbert cohort and am so excited to meet everyone! Did you guys already get your compliance requirements done? And if you haven't already, you'll probably get added to our cohort's Discord server soon which has a TON of useful info in it!
  9. YES!! Congratulations! So excited to meet you in person!! I am a former UA student so I already have a netID, however I gathered from the email from the graduate college that about 24 hours after you got the email from them you could use the link within the email to go in and create a netID for yourself! When I clicked the link I thought I saw an option there to create one :)
  10. Yes, mine was also sent to my old UA email address. If you have that, look there! If not, check your spam folder too. If you still cannot locate it, email the college of nursing CON email. Also there is the Compliance Orientation zoom call today that you should definitely join if you're able to. They also sent out a recording of Mondays call too, so I'd watch that.
  11. I was leaning towards all white until I thought about how neurotic I'd be trying to keep them clean! A current MEPN student recommended the all white croc clogs (that have no holes on top) but crocs historically haven't fit my long skinny feet haha. I am looking in to either the all black Bala Twelves or the all white Hoka Bondi SR (even though I think they are hideous LOL).
  12. Hello! It is on the MS-MEPN Onboarding Packet that was an attachment on the acceptance email. It's the second bullet point and has the Zoom link! It is on Monday from 3-4:30 but it also says if you are unable to attend that it will be recorded. Looking forward to seeing you there!!
  13. Got it! You can delete it now! I'll email you!
  14. I had to Google what a Discord server was!! Therefore, safe to say I think I may need help with that! And I agree, I think it makes so much sense to keep the Tucson cohort separate from the Gilbert one! I am not able to private message you - are you able to private message me on here? I am trying to think how we could connect other than through this thread so we don't take it over until we have the Discord server created! ?
  15. I appreciate you SO much - this was so extremely helpful!! We have our first onboarding orientation session via Zoom on Monday, but this was so great that I was able to get these random questions out of the way!! I am going to look up those scrub pants an those crocs for sure!! I have gotten my titers drawn and my first TB screen test done/read. I have heard the compliance checklist can take awhile to get through, so I started ASAP! And luckily I already have my fingerprint clearance card!! You rock!!
