Guys!! I got my acceptance to the program today, I was on the alternate list. I sent my request to join the fb group can someone add me?

Hey guys, for those that applied to the USF ABSN program for the Tampa campus anyone else got waitlisted or selected as an alternate for admission? Unfortunately, I'm on the alternate list and anxious about it. I know in previous years people have been accepted from the alternate list but in the email they mentioned that they are not able to tell us our ranks which is bugging me. Anyone know more information about this or have friends that got in from being waitlisted? Good luck to everyone on the list!

That's my exact thought process too LOL and IDK if the $35 is refundable or not. Honestly, I don't think 1 week is gonna make a big difference with the orientation filling up. Maybe I'll register, and that's me manifesting I get accepted

Yeah, I got an email from the office of admissions to register for orientation like basically complete the tasks under myBullsPath, but I know it has nothing to do with the college of nursing at least that's what I think. It's orientation for the school

Has anyone registered for orientation with the school? Like there's a mandatory orientation with USF for all incoming students.

I know, I wished we would find out sooner since some of us are from out of town and need to find housing. I don't want to scramble last minute haha

I'm pretty sure all decisions are sent out by the 24th, if not hopefully sometime earlier than that. At least that's what it says in the email.

Guys it's finally March meaning we will get our acceptance decision in 3 weeks! I feel like we've been waiting for ages LOL, but if anyone hears back sooner let us know. Good luck to everyone!

Hey! I don't think your undergrad GPA is terrible because people have probably gotten accepted into their program with a similar GPA, but I know USF is pretty competitive like many other nursing programs. Unfortunately, USF doesn't take extracurriculars into consideration like healthcare experience because applicants are only evaluated on their undergrad GPA, prerequisite GPA, and interview. I wished they did consider our past experiences since most of us do have healthcare experience or work in the field already, but they don't ://

I haven't come across any issues accessing my application portal/myBullsPath but maybe you can reach out to the admissions office and see if they can help you. They are usually pretty responsive

I got verified pretty quickly on NursingCAS probably because it was already verified before I applied to USF when I was applying to other schools, but it shouldn't take them more than 2 weeks to verify it. Interviews are never fun haha, but what really helped me prepare for it was practice answering possible questions they might ask and doing a mock interview with someone. I asked my friend to do a mock interview with me and that definitely calmed my nerves for the actual interview. Good luck!

Usually with the scenario questions for nursing interviews they like to ask ethical ones so maybe you can practice similar questions, but don't be too nervous! Like everyone else said, it went by really fast and just answer the best you can.

Glad it went well! My interview also went by really quickly too, probably finished a little under 10 minutes but it's definitely due to the set up. I think I know which question you're talking about haha. It was the last question for me, and it wasn't a question I was expecting either, but I think it was moreso for the admissions committee to see if we can think quick on our feet.

Yayy thanks for confirming, but let me not get my hopes up LOL Traditionally the Tampa campus is harder to get in, but their stats are lower compared to st pete and sarasota soo..

Also, when I spoke to one of the admissions advisors a few weeks ago she told me that usf is planning on admitting more students this Summer for the accelerated program, so hopefully that's true so we can all get in haha Don't quote me, but I think she said 30~ more seats

When did you apply? I think when I applied it took them 2-3 weeks to get back to me about an admissions decision so you should be good. I kept checking my applicant portal to see if they updated the decision

That was me a few days ago, nervous as heck but honestly it went by really quick for me. What really helped me prepare for the interview was practice answering common questions they might ask like "why do you want be a nurse.” I also did a mock interview with a friend and that helped calm my nerves a lot haha Don't worry, you got this :)

So I submitted my NursingCAS app right when the application opened back on December 1st, and I got my interview invitation last Friday on Jan 6th so I guess it took about a month to hear back, but I think you will hear back sooner since they are already doing interviews now and it's getting closer to the interview deadline which is March 3rd.
