  1. I can't express how grateful I am for sharing your story. I've been accepted to school so far. But the BON is in the back of my head for when it's over. I'm taking all of the steps I can think of to prove myself. AA. Sponsor. I'm completely sober. I'm just obviously worried. But you're right. They're human. I just want to thank you for your share.
  2. That's amazing!! Congratulations! I got in too ☺️
  3. Hey, I've been reading about cases with DUI's and nursing and try to compare my case to figure out what to do next. I'm waiting to get into nursing school. I have a dui from 12 years ago.. but then another one 4 years ago. I'm afraid having two will affect receiving my license from the BON. (If I even get in, go through with school, and pass the NCLEX. No drugs involved. But my bac was kinda high for the second dui. And I've read circumstances like that weigh heavily in decisions. I just don't know if it's worth all of the trouble. But if I don't try, I feel like I've wasted years taking prerequisites and working at a crappy job. I'm a single mom with two kids and just want a better life for them. But it seems like my past will prevent me. It seems as though you can get into school and go through all of the trouble but then be denied a license in the end. Any advice Or similar situation would help. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hey guys! Minimum is a 60 ... but that's not good enough. I got a 74 but applied to holy name. Holy name accepts as low as a 70. but I'm taking it again this Wednesday and applying to bergen. I was told by a friend in admissions that they accept anywhere in the 80s. And since people have heard it's so competitive there's a lot less applicants this year. And they don't rely on your GPA as heavily. They have new staff. So this is the best year to apply. For the TEAS... math and English isn't that hard but you have to study. Fractions, decimals, conversions.. mean median mode.. speed time and distance... a few questions for area and circumference for shapes. Watch YouTube videos that explain the math. It's pretty accurate. Science... a lot of ap, know terms... ligaments, histones, enzymes, hormones, but also a lot of basic knowledge about cells, Golgi apparatus, ribosomes, a few chemistry - acids and bases, balancing equations. English... I mean. Know grammar. Be able to read something and know the topic and what not. I used mometrix to study. They have practice exams. And YouTube videos. Hope this helps. It's alot. But stay focused. Good luck!
