Some were your standard interview questions. They asked about how the field could be more diverse which was tough if you don’t have an answer prepared. And then they asked stuff about DNP and the field in general but don’t remember exactly.

If they pose questions to the group show you’re eager and raise your hand to answer it. Show that you’re personable and not just an anesthesia robot, tell them who you are outside of nursing, give them an example of what you like to do outside of work. And honestly I think they probably already sorta know before they interview but just want to make sure you aren’t a serial killer or have a terrible personality. Also it’s okay to be nervous but don’t let it consume you because that could come off the wrong way. So be confident in your stories and your experience but not overly confident. If that makes sense.

It starts with group introductions and then you move to smaller break out groups and then after 45 min there you go back to the larger group to ask faculty and a few students questions. It did take 2 hours.

Everyone was asked a different question in my group. We each answered 2 and then she asked one last question to the whole group and chose whoever raised their hand to answer. I thought it was an interesting way to interview. Like it was nice to see who you were up against but at the same time you kind of compare yourself and your answers to what the others are saying which can make it more nerve wracking. But it’s def meant to be a bit more laid back and informal if a graduate school interview can be that way.
